Here is mine in black on silver in front and silver on silver in back. I had pretty much ruled out the silver, but decided to use it as practice. It is very easy to apply and avoid bubbles (I did not use heater on vinyl, but it was 76 degrees today!).
The silver looks better than I thought it would. I'm thinking the black on the back would be more dramatic than what I am looking for. I really don't want to draw attention, but like the idea of having a car that will catch the eye of anyone who is into cars.
If anyone has black on a silver hatch, please post a pic so I can compare.
For the front, it had to be black. With all of the black grill, having the bowtie in black works perfect!

I think it looks great front and back. Using black on rear badge would stand out too much. Nice job. Am wondering why no LTZ or TURBO badges in rear. Were they not there or did you take them off?

Yeah, I like the clean sheet metal look. Probably would have got rid of the Bowtie on the rear if it didn't leave 2 holes and the one on the front if it weren't designed into the grill.
When I was asking the dealership to NOT apply any dealership decals, I asked if they could remove the emblems. I was pretty surprised they were willing (but only after I owned it, of course). Here is a thread discussing removing the emblems.

PS - Taking the picture of the front while holding the camera at the level of the grill really gives this car a bad-ass look!

Does anyone know how difficult it is to remove the hub covers from these wheels?
No way do I have the patience to black them out while installed on the car, but if I could bring them inside on a rainy afternoon, I'd love to black them out. That would get rid of every bit of gold on the exterior! Some colors look okay with the gold bowtie, but I think it looks cheesy on silver.
PS - I simply used a wet paper towel followed by a dry paper towel, followed by an "alcohol prep swab" (I would call them mini-wipes - these are like $1.50 for 50 each at any drug store and they are great for cleaning off adhesives or pre-cleaning a surface before applying any type of paint or adhesive. I learned about them when we were keeping my daughters belly button clean after birth).

Thinking about doing my bowties but I'm concerned on the durability of the vinyl. Any updates on how the vinyl is holding up since you've put it on?

Changed the color of my front bowtie, license plate frames, and chrome window sill strips for around $10. Used black plasti-dip rattle can. Looks badass and matches color and texture of black plastic pillar trim. Still have plenty of paint left to do rear bowtie (If I leave it on) and Sonic badge on back. Turbo and LT have been removed.

I just ordered these black aluminum bow tie inserts. They cost $135 but they have a 4 year warranty. Wasn't sure about the durability of the vinyl.

most vinyl has around 9 year outdoor, it may bubble but that takes all of 2 seconds to fix or if you use a heat gun it should not bubble. You could also Plasti-dip as well and it is also a good product at $5 a can.
