LiIon batteries are more powerful, lighter, and have a higher voltage.
14.4 vs 12.6 I'm not sure if you would need a different alternator/voltage regulator since I've never used a LiIon in an automotive application.

My shuriken ran 16v @ 6000rms on a 350 amp alternator and was still a very light battery... I had 6 batteries though with 3 runs of 0 gauge front to back.

I was referring to the at rest voltage. At 3.6v per cell it's 14.4v on a 4 cell. Which is why I wasn't sure what would need to be done with the alternator since a normal lead acid battery's alternator normaly charges between 13.6-14.5v

He's still making progress on those, but they sound a little farther off.

On a side note, my upgraded rods are being produced and the pistons are done, so I can start moving forward with rebuilding the engine soon.

I'm trying to remain ambiguous, but if you have cracked my code of hints, it sounds like one of the new parts will be priced less than the existing option. Which is a one of several reasons I have not already purchased the other choice.
