Blower Motor Squeek

60k miles on my 2 year old sonic, and another problem, this one will not be under warrenty. My blower motor is squeeking when it is running, it does not matter what speed the fan is set to. Is anyone else having this problem? I am getting tired of issues.

I have the same issue. Sometimes if I put it to a higher speed it stops but speed 1 and 2 are terrible. Think bout spraying it with wd-40 or something

I have also had this issue, fan would squeek at all speeds (but not really noticeable on 3-4 vs the airflow) but it was replaced under warranty. The new one that they installed sounds totally different compared to the old one.

Explain different. I wish I had it fixed but didn't think it would be this bad plus i though it was just me until my girl asked me what that sound was

I suspect it will be a common issue with these cars. I plan on pulling mine out and applying a liberal dose of spray lube to the bearings in the spring. I can "fix" the squeak with a slight adjustment to the radio volume.

same issue here, please report back if spraying lubricant made the squeak go away. I have heard that gm cars are known for blower motor issues so I am not surprised.

Mine started doing it right around 40k. Been driving me nuts. Once it warms up I'm going to take a look into it.

I'm in a 2012, still only at 26k miles. I'll let everyone know how it gets fixed as soon as I can duplicate the issue at the dealership.

I do not know why high mileage would effect a blower motor?

I would also be be careful in what you spray on the motor. WD40 is a bad choice.

I have less than 22,000 miles on my 2012 Sonic and it is getting worse - especially on speeds 1 and 2.

I am taking it in to the dealer on Friday. I am expecting it to be covered under the warranty.

Looking forward to hearing about anyone who has had success fixing it or getting it fixed. I am curious...is this one where you have to pull apart the entire dash to change it out?
