Average miles out of a set of tires?

I've got close to 50K(bought September of 2012) on my stock 16' Hankooks and they look about brand new also so at this rate I will get 100K out of them LOL :banana:

I've got 20k on stock tires one my 17s, they are bald as ****. I do drive the car pretty hard though

At 19,700 this happened. Now I have 2 new continental extreme contact DWS on the front. They will stay there for the winter months and move to the rear for the summer. If I don't get a set of 15's with snows next winter ill switch back.

The set of 245s I will start to run when spring is here have a treadwear rating of 600 (60000mile warranty) and a friend of mine did 115000km on one set, thus why with all my highway driving I opted for the same tires, Falken PT722

Im at 51k miles on my factory 17" hankooks. They are dangerous in heavy rain. Ive actually had to slow down on the highway to keep TC from engaging constantly. I've been looking at bridgstones.

I'm at 41k and I had to swap the fronts to the back cause they are almost bald and that was a good 10k miles ago so now the fronts are doing the same. Good thing I get tires for $35 each.

I've only got 500 miles on mine, but after the research and reviews on the 15" Hankooks, I am already considering switching them out.
Good thread topic. I hope people comment on the how well the originals held up and if they liked the ride, or not.

I got close to a thousand miles out of mine. I wouldn't say, though, that they were good for those thousand miles.
I hear they aren't bad in summer weather, I'm afraid I never gave them that chance.

No I didn't run over anything. That's what's left of the ink/paint stripes that went around the tire when new.
The stock hankooks aren't completely terrible if you drive normal and don't drive in the snow.

I measured the tread on my hatch with 13,500 miles. The OEM Hankook 17" tires originally have 10/32 inch tread depth. I averaged 8/32 inch tread depth. Assuming replacement depth ~ 4/32 inch, I calculate a potential service life of around 40,500 miles.
If replaced at the legal limit of 2/32 inch depth, I potentially could go another 27,000 miles for a total of 67,500 miles. Other factors such as driving style, temperature, alignment, road surface, and speed will ultimately determine service life. Every individual will have different results, but measuring depth periodically and determining miles driven, will tell you how many miles you will obtain.
I also noted that the stock 17's have sufficient grip in warm, dry conditions; but they are possibly the worst I've driven on in snow and slushy winter weather. They don't like to start, stop, or turn in snow; equally insufficient on ice. Winter tires are in order for safe winter driving!

I'm seeing a bulge in the sidewall, just like our car had at about 6,000 mi. Was not happy with GM and the dealer not paying for my replacement tire! Seems to me those tires are inferior...

I think the most I've ever received out of an OEM set of tires was low 40k's, but generally they've been done around 30k. Firestone, General, Continental and Kumho brands.
At 18k, my 15" Hankooks still seem to have a decent amount of meat left on them. Unfortunately, I have one with a slow leak that I was tracking down today (as evidenced by it blowing bubbles.

I have put maybe around 40,000km on my stock Hankooks and they still have maybe another 40,000km or more but I always monitored them and set them at 38psi using nitrogen. Though most of the mileage was highway driven and mostly had 5ppl in the car because of family visiting. The 2 rears still look new but they were used for one winter season and have cracks between the tread lines so I will be either throwing them away or if someone needs them locally for free they can have them.
