Here is a little update for those interested:
When I originally picked up my Sonic from the dealer today they informed me that they removed the blower motor and cleaned out some debris/leaves from the assembly where the blower motor meets up with the plenum. They also ordered a new passenger side washer nozzle for me since it is currently spraying everywhere but the windshield. The car was washed up and looking good when I picked it up!
I got about half way home from the dealer and it started chirping and squeaking again, so I turned around and decided to go back so that they could hear it while it was making some noise. When I was back at the dealer the first tech listened to it and claimed it was normal operation. I wasn't too happy to hear it so he asked his boss to take a listen and he did agree with me and that the blower motor should be replaced. They have one on order for me and I will be able to get it installed next week once it gets shipped to the dealer.
I was slightly bummed that I had to go back after originally picking up my Sonic, but I understand that intermittent issues are a pain for the techs as well as the customer.
I will say that at this point I am pretty happy with Lou LaRiche Chevrolet. I think it is great that they agreed to replace it for me.
I have had many bad experiences with previous Ford dealerships when I owned some FMC products years back. It seemed that they could never duplicate or verify any of my issues when taking my Ranger in for service.
Thanks to Patsy G and everyone else for contributing to this thread. I appreciate it and look forward to how others are dealing with the squeaky blower motor issue!
