Brand new LT owner in Washington

Hey guys how's it going

Just bought my brand new 2014 LT sedan on Saturday but after lurking the forums it seems that the hatches the popular choice haha.

Got mine in blue topaz with the wheels and fog package. I plan on tinting it 25% all the way around with a 5% strip on the front, getting 17s put on it in black and using the 16s it came with as my winter set, and getting a lowering kit for it because I don't like the way it sits stock, hopefully that doesn't void the warranty though lol.

I'll get some pics up soon once the weather clears up and I get time to pop outside.

Haha I drive Duvall to totem lake every day for work. I think I'm gunna get some of the SOF stickers for my car to make mine easier to spot

LT Version, LTZ was more then I wanted to spend and RS was out of my price range completely, but I'm just as happy with the LT

And there is the car i upgraded from in the back Went from a 98 Saturn SL2 with 147K miles on it to the 14 Sonic with (as of 5/28) 161 miles on it

And then theres a pic of my car, with my moms brand new 2014 Impala 2LTZ in front, only vehicle missing from the driveway is my dads 2012 Colorado Z71

Edit: this is no 25% tint either, tint is going on on Friday. Might tint my tails as well but i havent decided yet.

Also saw on another thread that you wanted to change your antennae but did you ever give removing it a shot?? had mine off for over a year and no issues with reception at all.

I never thought about removing it. I'm not the most car savvy person so I wouldn't want to mess anything up, but I just love the look of shark fins lol

edit: I also live in a very woodland area so my reception cuts out sometimes depending on where im driving, doesnt really "cut out" just that the volume divebombs lol

Well give it a shot and see how well it picks up, mine was zero difference from attached to removed. All you gotta do is twist off the rod part and the base stays in place. Saves like $75 bucks if it works for you and I just keep it in the trunk in case I travel and need it.

Just went out and removed it but I don't like the fact that it leaves a hole opening exposed, is there a cover or plug i can put in it?



Also, trying to figure out how to remove the cover for the air filter is kicking my booty, I see 2 screws but no clip pins or anything like that lol.

I just left mine open but you could take the antennae to Homedepot and find a short bolt with the same threads and paint the head black then thread it in.

No clue about the filter but if you do a search on the forum I am sure you can find all the info you need to figure out how to open it up.

Yeah I found it!

Going to talk to my insurance agent in a few hours to take my Saturn off my insurance and put the Sonic onto it and theres a parts store right next door. going to pick up a K&N and put it in tonight and keep my stock airfilter in my shed haha

Wydz welcome. Got same color sedan only I got an LS. Had to save a few bucks I wanted out of my goddamn Cobalt bad. And it came with MyLink. Love it.

You don't mind your car being sandwiched in like that?? I'd be worried someone would nick the damn thing.
