So this might be a dumb question but I know with the honda's there are so many parts that are interchangeable, but with the 1.4 vs. the 1.8 what are parts are interchangeable? Intercooler? Anything?

One could assume the intercooler would be interchangeable

Also the m32 will bolt to the 1.8 also.

Intercooler yes but not the piping. You'll be better off trying to get 1.6 parts but even at that custom would end up cheaper

I don't care to spend the money for custom parts if that's the route I have to go. I hate that there are just no parts for these 1.8s the dealership didn't have any 1.4ts and had to get a new car. I hope they get on the ball with making some. I'm used to my older Hondas that have a blue million parts for. Guess it's just a waiting game or spend the money for custom

I figured its like they say no replacement for displacement and I could get more power out of the 1.8 and it's still probably true just is either 1 going to cost more or two going to have to wait longer for them to develope parts

Custom will half the time be cheaper then buying off the shelf kits. The most you would spend money on is the manifold and DP the basic t3/t4 or super .60 turbo or fairly cheap.

The more guys that make custom kits on there own the more the aftermarket takes notice.

Have you ever seem a T3/T4 next to a 1.8? I have a feeling that the 1.8 doesnt move enough to make effective use of a T3/T4 hybrid. I feel that even a super 60 would be too much.

I was looking at something along the lines of a 22 or 25 series.

I don't know about this 1.8 but I've had 1.6s and 1.8s that would push a t3/t4 with no issues that was actually my very last set up before I sold it. Was a 1.8 Ls/Vtec on 12psi and it made 359whp on that setup. The question is just whether or not this one will do what that one did.

Custom doesn't always mean expensive just matters on how you pick your parts It's alot of custom kits out that cost less then off the shelf kits

20/25 will spool super quick but a GtIR hybrid set up would be better

My very first turbo set up was a T3/T4 57trim and now it's a GT35R

Question is what kind of pistons and rods is he running? Is it stock? Custom manifold? These are the things I'm looking at. I have been reading an the European Saab 9-3 has a 1.8L ecotec turbo that puts down 155hp I wonder how close the parts are to this. If they would work I may have more parts options then I originally thought.

The Saab 1.8 is actually a low pressure turbo 2.0 of a completely different engine fa,ily from the one we use in our cars.

That picture i posted is literally just a turbo sitting in the engine bay of a Sonic with a 1.8. Nothing is connected to it at all.
