So, I've been thinking about where Chevy could go with our platform in the future. Obviously the Trax is on it's way and an SS option is dead in the water, but what else would Sonic lovers like to see? With Ford bringing over the Focus RS, I would love to see some more power from the factory. Perhaps a Sonic Wagon would be an option as well? 8Sp trans? What do you guys think?

Most people seem to see the Sonic and Fiesta as competitors...with the Cruze closer to the Focus...
I'd sure love to see the Cruze 5 door hatch, with a 200+ setup
I agree with the Fiesta/Sonic as competitors, but Ford announced that they will be spreading the RS line over to different products between now and 2020. SVT is going to be a big push for the next forseeable future, and GMPP needs to get on the ball with some factory hotrods to compete for the enthusiast's dollars.

Actually...no. RS is used by various manufacturers. Hence this: Ford Focus RS will go global, come to US - Autoblog
The RS is the big mean brother from Europe. Expected to make 300+HP and be AWD. RS is also used by AUDI. As in the Audi TTRS.
In fact, we could buy a version of the previous RS here (in Volvo Form as the C30).

No problem. The RS moniker probably has just as strong a heritage with the guys with the goofy blue oval on their cars as we do. The RS400 was a legendary European compact from the late 70's. I want to say the escort (Euro, not ADM) had an RS version as well, but I may be remembering wrong. A lot of the Japanese had RS versions as well. I believe there was a Galant RS at one point during the early 90s that was AWD, and was succeded by the EVO.

Give a Sonic just like my 2012, except with better MP3 searching etc and I'll be content.
Actually, give me a 7th gear while you're at it and improve my gas mileage so I can break 50 finally.
Some lights on the floor would be nice as well. Even my 1987 GrandPrix had lights on the floor and red/white lights in the interior of the doors so they could be seen when open.
Oh and my final request would be crotch coolers like the 1970s-1980s GM's had. That's a must.

Shift light disable will never happen because EPA.
Autodimming review AND side mirrors would be nice. Hell, I'd pay $1K extra for that without a doubt.

LT and LTZ have heated mirrors
They heat when you use the rear defroster.
I honestly didn't believe our first Sonic had heated mirrors until it got totaled in front of our house and I picked up one of the mirrors and saw the wires hanging out of it.
Since then, I've had the chance to actually use them on this car many times.
I would like to see:
1) Foldable read headrests.
2) Gauges.
3) Knobs for volume control and tuning.
4) A bit more low end power so that the car feels peppy around town with the a/c on.
5) A center console would be nice.
Not a big wish list really. My Sonic 1.4L/6MT is a lot of fun as it is.

gauges (I can get an Ultragauge, but that won't give me the oil pressure and oil temp that I'd like) ….
wish the interior design team had made the window ledges wider … it's taking me a while to become accustomed to NOT being able to rest my elbow on the window ledge (with window up)
