Hi all

I've read this whole thread and even with all the issues with Bringgo, I want to see if it's possible for me to give it a try.

I have a 2014 Sonic 1.4T RS. I currently have a "dumb phone" but will be upgrading to a smart phone soonish.

I want to know if Bringgo is meant to show up as an icon in Mylink even if no phone is connected (in that faded look), or does it only show up when a phone with Bringgo installed is connected?

I would have to look at see but pretty sure it shows up in the faded look as you say even if Bringgo isn't installed. Pandora and some of the other apps do on Mylink even though I don't have any of them installed.

I see, thanks. So that means I don't have Bringgo in the car, but I do have the other apps. I now called my dealer and he said that there is an optional update for the 2014 Sonic that adds Bringgo. I'm in South Africa and everything is late here so nothing's changed - for some reason the MyLink software here did not have it by default.

Looks like I'm also the first to ask this dealer about it (probably in the whole country) - I will be the guinea pig as others have been for the dealers in this thread. Will see how it goes...

vengó ha este foro a solicitar ayuda para actualizar mylink tengo un sonic rs 2014 el cual trae mylink pero en mexico no quieren actualizar la versión de software del 2014 para tener bringgo únicamente las unidades 2015 y vengo con ustedes para solicitar si alguno de ustedes puede hacerme el favor de obtener los archivos de actualización de su distribuidor chevrolet o que pueda descargalos de tis2web y me lo facilitará de antemano muchas gracias.

avenged have this forum to request help updating mylink have a rs sonic 2014 which brings mylink but in mexico do not want to update the software version 2014 to have bringgo only the units 2015 and I come to you to ask if any of you can make me please get the update files from your chevrolet dealer or you can download them TIS2Web and I will provide advance thank you very much.

I have a problem with BringGo, maybe you can help me.

A couple of month ago, I bought the complete version but, at the same time, my iPhone remind me that the app had an update.

Since I run the upadate, the App doesn't work anymore. I have a tiny message who said a thing like this: "you have to purchase the app" but i've already bought it...

So when i try to re-buy the app, I Have a little message who said: "you already purchase this app".

So, I don't get it... What can I do? Please, help me.

Is anyone else having issues with Bringgo after the Iphone 4s IOS 8.3 uprgrade?
The error on my link is to theck the device or the application. Since Pandora, Tunein, and Sticher works i must assume it is the application! Thanks for any feedback

BringGo works well on Chevy Sonic 14 - LTZ
I have iPhone 6+ / and Android HTC M8 , running BringGo
**On iOS the app is trickier since it is plugged in via the lightning cable - you may need to open bringgo in the ios and force close it, then plug back in and open the app from the mylink, once the app opens on the phone, minimize and you can put phone on lockscreen (the charging from the USB port is hella slow/ and having the screen on, esp with BringGo App will drain the iPhone)
**On Android, the application communicates via Bluetooth the USB connection will charge the phone just fine/ however on beefy phones like the Note/Edge you may need to have screen off.

***BringGo is very smooth, I used it for a drive from NY to FL last week had to download all the maps on the east coast, I think Virginia was on the west coast for some reason, the app worked really no complaints, although Google Maps tends to have a better route.

I should probably finish reading everything before posting this. Since you download the maps does it reduce the data usage on your phone at all? I have a good amount of data anyways but on my last trip just using my cell on google maps it killed a lot of data on a weekend trip.

BringGo still uses a huge amount of data which is why I like my unlimited data plan.

.... why can't they just let a proven company out there like google maps have an app if it's going to eat data anyways .. they let pandora have one and whatever those other 2 things are that I've ignored lol.

I've yet to try it but just downloaded the close maps that I'll be traveling within.

I shut off my Data. I only use WiFi, and Bringgo was fine for me. It's just that you have to download all the maps ahead of time, which I did do over WiFi. I do lose any real time traffic though.

With google maps, you can make a trip and then save it for off-line use, so you aren't using real-time data too.

Here's what I got for Step By Steps off google....

To Download offline google maps;

1. Make sure you're connected to the Internet, then open the Google Maps app.

2 Sign in to your Google Account.

3. Search for a place, like "San Francisco." Pinch and zoom to select the area that you want to save.

4. To save the selected area of the map, touch the menu > Make available offline.

I am able to use the turn by turn directions and view the map it saved offline, so I don't eat up any data.

I really prefer Bringgo though. I had it free for almost a year til they upgraded it. As soon as I need a long trip again I will buy it.

HOWEVER an App Store search on my iPad can not find the BringGo app at all.

If you look at the Bringgo compatibility list there are only Iphones ...course i have no idea if they ever update that list or not ...I find that it is very picky especially with regards to the resolution of the device ..Do they mention which version of IPAD it is compatible with on the app store?

You have to change the serach results view to "iPhone" (button im top left corner). Also be aware that The app wilk worek im compatibility mode so it will be iPhone 4 size (with ability to zoom)

Being a new Sonic owner...Should I pay the $60 for this BringGo app or should I just grab my Garmin?
