I'm averaging 31.96 mpg since the beginning of December. My last two tanks were at at 32.8 and 32.5 respectively though at oil life in the 40% range and temps ranging from 10-35 degrees. (75%hwy/25%city)

I have found that synthetic oil doesn't drop mileage even down to 10 % in my car and I'm sure other opinions will be launched, but premium won't get you fuel millage unless you got spark knock. no ping, premium is a waste.

good numbers maybe gone
had minor mishap.... 106,866, hit 3 times:sadbanana: but car did me proud. motor might be available.. don't know if they are going to fix her. motor unharmed, but I'm a little bruised..... . looks like no more fuel mileage numbers.

Oh...that sucks. I've seen posts of your mileage before and was excited to see a few people go north of 100K miles with their Sonics. (With phenomenal MPG's too!) Glad you're in one piece. Obviously, the damage was extensive. But more importantly, score one for your little Sonic for keeping your injuries to a minimum.
BTW, what the heck happened?

Indiana on Saturday, caught squall and didn't make it. hit 3 times, glad I didn't get out of car. last one was the worst. yes, my little sonic did me proud. car is totaled, already settled. still finishing soreness..... but back to work. now what to get for my next car..... a little off subject, but, man....:blankface: its hard to get a rental in the middle of no rental zone.

i might have the answer to why your mpg drops....as soon as you start the car it goes into warm up mode (drinks fuel like crazy). drops your gauge....and if you let it sit and warm up that would explain 10mpg loss.

forgot to answer the other question(40+ in RS). yes... that is, if you can keep your rpm down with slow starts and top speed of 63.

averaging about 28 mpg, 1.4t, auto (computer, real world calculations, and via OnStar lifetime report).
less than I would have liked to be seeing, but better than the 2.4 G6 it replaced.

If you're in the upper midwest and averaging ambient outside temps less than 20 degrees, that's probably acceptable even for our little 4 bangers burning winter grade petro. I may be several points higher with my manual tranny.
On a positive note, I listened to a business report today while driving to work that indicated several national refineries were idle due to weather related issues and/or summer grade conversions.

Similar to me. I drive it hard though. 65++ highway and like a teen in a Sports car around town. I wish I could get the mileage others show. I feel like I am off by 10 MPG, but I can't stop having fun with it.
If I reset the Display to check out strictly highway, I do see better than the 37 MPG's it's rated for.
The other day I put in 89 Octane last fill up to see if it made a difference and thought I saw the mileage jumping from around 28 all the way up to around 40.
I WISHED....
When I took down my numbers to document them on fuelly, I forgot to change back to Average MPG's from Average MPH. SO, the faster I drove, the better MPG's I was getting, SO I thought. Ha ha ha ha DOH!!!
Like you said though, It's still far better than the old vehicle. I had a 93 Jeep Grand Cherokee V8 which got 12-14 MPG Highway if I was lucky.
