Blower Motor Squeek

Did you have any luck after giving it some lube? I ask because mine is starting to do this and the dealership said they couldn't hear it, even though I showed them a video in which you could hear it. I'm tempted to do it myself if they continue to be stubborn about it. It is getting worse and I plan on trying to show them this thread so they will at least know its not just me.

I keep hoping someone will say they went the lube and clean route and had it work, reading the thread I only see folks who replaced under warranty. The squeak isn't $250 worth of annoying (yet) but I would be willing to spend an hour getting to the motor, doing some cleaning, and putting everything back in place, if that would get rid of it.

My blower motor squeaks after about ten minutes, then it makes a louder and louder squeak. Funny how the amount of cars on the forum have this issue but every dealer warranty replacement we get the same treatment. Like we are the only person that had this problem!!!! I have an appointment at my dealer on 13FEB15. I was told that I don't have to pay the diagnostic fee if its "determined" its covered under warranty. I had purchased the extended warranty so I will have a deductable. My question is, if for some reason its not chirping when they attempt to diagnosis it, why should I have to pay for a $75 diagnosis for an issue affecting hundreds if not thousands of cars?

I decided to look at my extended vehicle protection package to see if the blower is covered. The brochure had a website I could get detailed info about coverage's. It is. Happened to notice that I could have a another repair facility, besides a dealership, to perform the repair as long as they get authorization from the company I purchased the warranty from. The repair shop was able to get authorization! They had to order the part and will be contacting me when it comes in. Only have to pay my deductible!

Im on my second blower motor at 48k and that one has already gone bad in less than a year. The squeeking noise is a constant reminder of how much i hate my car. I think i have 3 pages worth of repairs for the past 11 months.

I'm at 54,000 miles on my second Sonic and have had practically no repairs and love my car.
Makes you wonder, doesn't it?

Many other cars have been experiencing this exact same problem, and one brand I know specifically has it is BMW. Do a google search on bimmerfest blower motor failure and you'll get pages full of this problem on the 3 series and X vehicles and it usually happens between 40-100k miles. At least count your blessings that Chevy customer service watches and listens to this forum, over at BMW they don't give a flying leap how many have failed they will never admit fault or provide customer service help.

sometimes I get a slight squeak from mine. its only been kinda loud once, but most of the time its a really quiet squeak. I noticed it this winter, so probable at around 14000 miles when I first heard it. if it becomes constant, I would take it to the dealership, but its nowhere near that point yet.
