I am a new member here, but I have followed the sonic since before it came out. My "wish list" of a Sonic is exactly what I purchased on February 28th. Inferno Orange, 1.4L turbo, 6sp manual trans, and a hatchback.
I'm not new to the car scene either, I have built a few fast and fun cars in the past, and am currently working on a 92 Geo metro that I expect to run 11.0 in the quarter.
No one here cares about Geos, so let's get back to the sonic! This car will be my daily driver, as my pristine 1989 Probe GT was just destroyed by a 22yo female that really wanted to be on the other side of her red light....
I am only interested in performance mods, so that is what your going to find here!
So literally on my 4.5 hour drive back from picking up the car, I ordered a cat back exhaust. Mandrel bent 2.25" should be sufficient as this car will probably never see over 200whp.
Also, just this past Monday I decided against making my own intake, and just bought one. I don't know if anyone else has looked at it, but it appears you could literally just cut the box off the intake, ground down the flange on the bottom of the pipe, and throw a filter on it. I decided against it for the simple fact I may want to go back to stock at some point.
Also early this week I decided to go with Trifecta for my tune. Obviously I don't have to explain the reasoning behind this.
So here are some pics of the car as I got her, all nice and stock like. And as the parts come in I will update with photos of the new parts and impressions of them!
Also, I am in talks with 034Motorsport about a Wavetrac LSD. Even stock I hate how I can't put power down due to the stock diff wanting to light up just 195mm worth of rubber.... If I get one, I'll be installing it myself so pictures will be had of that as well.
