Bumper Quick Release

I've been corresponding with the guys over at Move Over Racing | MOVE OVER RACING EVO X
to work on a vehicle specific kit for the Chevy Sonic. They would like to gauge interest and see what kind of response they have. I attended a meet last week where the people who were modifying were really interested in the idea of a clean looking QR for the Sonic. As you can see by the pictures there are no rubber bands holding it together, this a push button QR style. It results in a much more durable and a flush look. The pictures/video show the current vehicle specific kits they fabricate for the STI and the EVO. Check them out below! :banana:

My guess is around $100-150 for the kit. When I bough mine (just the buttons no bracket) it was $50 for just 2.

For placement, if they are going to design on for the sonic, I think it need to be more spread out than the STI. As close to the headlight and then right before the fender-well would be perfect placement IMO. I keep getting flare out right near the headlight because my tabs are non-existent.

Well, once they figure out if it's something they would be making then I can work on the price with a group buy.

I'll pass on the info to my contact so they can relay it to the appropriate people. But I need to be able to pass on a good amount of interest or they probably wouldn't bother manufacturing a custom bracket.

These things are awesome. I decided to throw the mini latches I bought in tonight. Install went easier than I thought. Roughly 45 minutes. I'll get better pics tomorrow in the daylight. I still wish it was also held closer to the wheel well. Might pick up another pair. For anyone with broken tabs or plan on removing the front bumper occasionally, a kit would be great.

I used the lower front body panel screw, Then removed the threaded clip it screwed into

The stud went right through the hole without needing to open it up. Tightened the nuts down with 7/16th wrenches

Located the mounting point by measuring front the front corner near the headlight. Drilled .25" hole to test.

Dry fit and then opened it up to 3/4" with a step drill

Mounted the latch with supplied nut

Click click BOOM!

Looks nice beastlick, I think the extra set towards the back would complete the look and retention of the bumper.

The two would probably work great on these cars. It's just such a clean look for people who have to constantly remove their bumper.

Jeff over at mor was asking me about the fenders and bumpers on the different models. Do they all have the same kind of tab set up? And are they located and laid out the same? Once I get on my computer I will start to look into it myself, but does anyone know off hand?

IIRC the RS bumper can mount to a non RS Sonic. Not entirely sure about the tab areas and if there are any differences.

From what I could find online through gm parts diagrams and stuff they all look the same to me. I relayed that information to MOR so they know. I'm just going to need to get a little more interest that just ten people or it's not going to happen. So if you're on any other forums or facebook groups that may be interested please share the link to this poll!

I want to redip my headlight rings, but I just know they are going to break. I hate that bowing
