So you ended up undoing this mod because of the fluttering sound? I'm guessing that you didn't find the "benefits" of this mod worth putting up with the fluttering sounds? With your BOV, did you still get the wooch sound when you shifted or a fluttering sound instead?

The fluttering sound is only half of why I undid this, the other half is that I had to return the car to stock to go to the dealer for other issues. I only heard the fluttering when dumping at low boost (~4psi and below).

I will say on my commute this morning I notice a much smoother roll out from 1000rpm in both 1st and 2nd gear.... normally there would be some bucking trying to stay at that rpm range and rolling slow, then giving light throttle

Bucking is not normal...

He's describing what happens when you try to start at too low rpm, where the clutch grabs and slips repeatedly, not that the engine is surging and stalling repeatedly.

Not bucking hard, just not smooth when rolling in bumper to bumper traffic and avoiding the clutch. Much smoother roll out in 1st and 2nd from 1k rpm (boggy is probably a better description)

After a drive during lunch and a short jaunt to class I noticed that partial throttle acceleration is definitely improved. Feathering the throttle has a more significant effect than before. Partial throttle from 3000rpm has more response. Guess I just needed to play a bit!

I just did my bypass the bypass mod and I have to say that the results are amazing. My Sonic feels like it definitely gained some power. Before, when it would hesitate when taking off from a stop, now it's blasting off straight in to a sonic boom... I'm really happy I did this... thanks to all of you... GREAT MOD...

Definitely feels like the throttle response comes on quicker and smoother, but I'm getting a hissing/whistling above if I go into high RPMs, maybe above 3500. Double checked that none of my lines/caps had blown off.

Any ideas whats wrong? I have the forge BPV installed as well.

Maybe the hoses weren't connected properly? The bpv should be connected directly to the barbed connector that points straight down on the back passenger side, and the other two should be capped

What you might be hearing is turbo noise. I can hear my turbo spooling better now. (with the windows down) I love the whistling noise.

Are u sure this sound wasn't there before? As the pressure builds when it reaches the maximum it should start releasing pressure. The only difference is before it was computer and pressure controlled and now it's just pressure.

Sound definitely wasn't there before. NewZJ was right, I had the hose on wrong. Pulled it off the side of the Intake Manifold instead of the bottom of it. Missed that part on my initial read through of the directions, doh.

I had a LOT of difficulty pulling off that bottom hose, ended up just putting the car on ramps and pulling it from the bottom.

Haven't had a chance to test it out yet, but I'll report back tomorrow morning.

If you are having a problem, don't continue to drive it that way. if you think it's related to the vacuum line swapping, then reverse what you did to see if the problem goes away.
The mod only gets rid of one of many nannies. It doesn't alter fueling.
I saw a post in which you stated you were installing a BOV at the same time. If you actually installed a vent to ATM BOV, my bet is on the BOV. A MAF based system doesn't like it when you vent metered air out of the system.

I did write in a previous post that I want to install a BOV valve but I haven't done it yet. What's weird about what my car is doing is that it's not constant or all the time... ever since I did this mod I did notice that my car gained a little power but when I step on it sometimes it stumbles or acts like it looses power... but it doesn't do that all the time. I have checked my conections and everything looks fine... do you still think I should undue this mod?

With multiple pages of people doing this mod without issue, I think your situation warrants undoing it to verify if in fact it is the mod causing the issue. You can decide what to do after that. There should be no way this mod causes the car to run poorly if everything is as it should be with the engine's health. How many miles on the spark plugs? Tuned?

I don't have a tune yet and I have about 45,000 miles on it. As far as what I can see, I think I did this mod the right way. If you think that I should undo this mod to see what happens, then I guess I should. But I'm not to exited about undoing this mod because it was my first mod and I did noticed an improvement in power.

It's your call. You expressed concern, asked a question, and I'm just giving advise. If I made a change, and that change seemed to cause an unsatisfactory result, I would undo said change to verify it "it" was indeed the problem.
In this case, it's just swapping some vacuum lines around so there is no real time lost. If the car still acts up, you have another issue. If the problem goes away, you need to figure out why it's causing the issue in the first place. Intermittent stumbling above 4K is not a typical result of doing this. Once you figure out why it's happening, you can enjoy the mod to its fullest.
If you are at 45K on the stock plugs you may want to pull them out, and regap them or replace them with new ones. With that kind of mileage there could easily be enough wear to warrant removing them, and with the same effort involved in either regapping stock plug or replacing, I'd say replacing is the safer bet. Most guys here gap new plugs to .028" I believe. I gap them even lower, but I run more boost than most people here so it's warranted.

Okay brother, thanks for your reply. I'll undo the mod to see what happens and replace my plugs. I'll post what happens after I do these couple of things.

Thanks for the info. I was wondering when I should check/replace my plugs. I looked at buying some around 40k and the guy at the auto store kinda chuckled at me bc "you don't need to replace them til 100k". I figured that was a load of bs ...if I want my car running supremely
