I just thought it would be a great idea to have a thread for custom exhausts. Everyone can share their exhaust setup and clips/pics. Sure there are a few youtube videos out there, but nobody bothers to give their exact setup in the description. (Huge pet peve) Enjoy some eye/ear candy or help others decide on a setup.

Not bragging, but I honestly believe my setup on the 1.4t makes it one of the best sounding 4 cylinders on the road.

Thanks for sharing. Nice vid. That's a straight through muffler? Seems quiet for one.

These three videos are when I had the ZZP catback with no muffler or secondary cat-so it was straight piped from the cat back. It is a 1.4 liter.
I now have a muffler on it and it still sounds pretty good, but I liked the straight pipe better. I'll try to get videos of the car how it is currently.

Robby that sounds like mine when I had it straight piped. I decided to put the muffler back on till I found a subtle muffler I was happy with. Was real nice tho. Loved the idle/ low rpm.

Robby that sounds like mine when I had it straight piped. I decided to put the muffler back on till I found a subtle muffler I was happy with. Was real nice tho. Loved the idle/ low rpm.

I loved all the popping when downshifting and the backfiring type noise. I ended up getting a ticket for it being so loud (Any non-factory exhaust is illegal in Illinois). But now that I stay in Missouri, I'm going to eventually take the muffler off and replace it with the straight pipe.

I have to get mine up soon. I have a custom 1.8 liter with custom cat back 2.5 inch piping mandrel bent with a 22 inch Magnaflow Resonator to a black powder coated tip and that's it, no real muffler.

Me too! Sometimes it was obnoxious. xD I was afraid of getting a ticket myself. Either switching to a FM Super 10 or a bullet. Just to get the rasp down.

Here we go.
First run away is casual, under 20% throttle. On the way back, I did a 2nd gear pull from 30-70km/h and then the final one is all the way through 2nd gear at WOT.

I should have one up in a couple weeks or so. Just got my ZZP muffler delete section from another member and found a local welder. Now to pick a decent sized glasspack to make it not deafening which will be likely going on the midsection. I'm doing it this way so if and when I get pulled over and receive a "fix-it-ticket I have the ZZP muffler to easily bolt up. ...but hopefully that wont happen. xP

Any idea of sound if I remove resonator and secondary cat but leave first cat and muffler? Just out of curiosity
