Well, at first I wanted to mount the catch can by the firewall to avoid having to use a longer house if I mounted it somewhere else but because I didn't want to drill into the firewall I ended up mounting it by the battery (I mounted the braket for the oil catch can right on the metal braket the holds the battery). By choosing this location, I then realized that it works out great because I now have easy access to cleaning the catch can. So it worked out.Double sided stick tape? Velcro? Otherwise I can only see custom brackets working out
Or maybe a couple zip ties
I've been kinda thinking of mounting mine when I do it near the washer fluid res or battery

Any pics?I have 2 mounted on my 2015 Hatch, they are on a 1.5" aluminum angle mounted off the pinch weld at the firewall-strut location drilled 1 hole. g
No you can really see the difference. I'm so glad I waited to install the catch can and read all those reviews, good and bad that helped lead me to make these changes.

Before you say that it's not needed, check the catch can after a couple of months of use or after approximately 3,000 miles for fluid collection. If you have any fluid in the can, then yes, you can assume that it's needed or that at least it does help to eliminate blow-by.Just finished my catch can install, I got the same one as tainopayute.
I know it's not needed especially on a 1.8 but who cares.

I just checked my can after a few hundred miles and 12 days.
It was half full of what I would call %90 water 10% oil.
Is it just the fact that hot crankcase fumes go right into cold can and condense?
Does this not happen on everyones?
Something seems wrong....
Makes me think about installing one. But which one. .
Do yo have a link, or can you give make and model of your oil catch can?
