Lol, out of the blue. To be honest. it was completely unexpected, but at the same time I know what killed it.

Note to those with an automatic transmission. Our Axle seals suck.

Currently have the sub-frame removed from the car and working on freeing the transmission from the engine. Looking like a new water-outlet (preventive), Serpentine belt, cam sensor seals, removal of Dexkill and intercooler/turbo pipe cleaning are on the list of things to do now in addition to replacing the transmission.

I was tryin to be suttle [emoji12] but do you have to pull the engine to get the trans out? Mines only been to the stealerships to have any work done, but I'm only at 53k for my 14 auto.

Nah, The only reason the engine hoist is there, is to support the engine while I have the transmission out of the car. The sub-frame has to be removed and the transmission comes out from the bottom. The transmission that's sitting in front of the car now is actually out of a 14, buick encore. Just hoping the software and hardware changes don't cause any headaches down the road.

Just as a heads up for anyone in the future. The '14 MH8 6T40 transmission had some revisions done. They added a 5th clutch pack, along with some changes to the solenoids and TCM programming.

I put mine on the podium! Colorado RallyCross season ender... 2nd Place, PF (prepared fwd) class, out of 13 racers. 5 laps, cumulative time of 560 seconds so lots of seat time and a fast course!

Long weekend but damn a lot was done.

Down-pipe wrapped and cleaned out from the oil burn
Intercooler and turbo pipes cleaned
New transmission bolted up with subframe put back in place
Oil pan gasket redone(had to remove for the torque converter)
Cam sensor seals serviced
Intercooler and tubes mounted in place.

It's a Monday and I'm dead after all of that.

This weekends weekend warrior project!! (While im at it, full inspection of suspension).

Next project, replace the fugly oem antenna with used 15' Impala Claret Crystal Tintcoat (so happy I found one that matched, otherwise would have been black or carbon flash) shark fin!!

I just used a lot of brake clean for the inside of the intercooler, though it's pretty shot from all the pcv blowby. Probably spent 30min trying to get all of the oil out. The charge tubes, I used Dawn dish soap while scrubbing the inside with a rag. down pipe was a combination of diluted simple green and a really long pipe pipe cleaner with some stiff bristles. Then I wrapped it so I could better sheild heat and keep under hood temps down. Some people say to swirl some Petro in the intercooler since it break's up the oil...

Nice, how are the hood struts.

Only got the trans fluid changed, started raining in the middle of changing it so Wednesday will be the new rotor/brake kit plus 15' Impala antenna (really psyched to get this done).

Side note, old trans fluid (66k miles) was black/red and def burnt up and only 1.6 quarts came out. Put 2.5qts of Redline MT-90 and the feel is night and day, also the slight micro vibration I was starting to feel in the shifter is completely gone.

I did my trans fluid (ATF) at 25k at the same time I did my girlfriends at 45k
both were very dark

I just looked at the pics of the redlines and measured to get the right length/force.
I can make no comment on durability yet.

Well, I know what I'm doing next. Another item that should've been factory.

On a side note, I've officially found out that the gear ratios are slightly different between the 2012 6t40 and the 2014 Buick encore 6t40. She gets into the powerband quicker and sits at a higher RPM on the hwy. Nice little weekend discovery after driving her around.

Innovate PSB-1 Boost / Wideband Gauge

Working on another interior project for my sonic. Innovate PSB-1 wideband and boost gauge. Comes with everything needed for install minus the relay/fuse. Right now I'm getting familiar with all the wiring and determining how I plan to install it. I ordered UnXpectedError's 3D printed vent gauge pod and next need to figure out how to snake the PSB-1 wiring out of the HVAC vent without leaving any permanent changes. I'll use quick disconnects for the wires and try to get it installed this weekend. Will install the wideband O2 afterwards, once I get my DP in.
