Blue Moon Sonic

I honestly should've waited another year to get an RS, but I'm pretty happy with mine even after the fact. Still want an RS, and really wish GM would make an SS version.
Yeah, if Chevy wants me to buy another car asap, they can make a 2.0 Turbo Sonic SS with AWD. I'd put money down on that today.I honestly should've waited another year to get an RS, but I'm pretty happy with mine even after the fact. Still want an RS, and really wish GM would make an SS version.

I had a WRX and loved it. Only sold it because it got too high in mileage and I didn't trust it as it was my only car. Got a Camaro SS instead - but I REALLY miss the AWD and choo-choo turbo noises.IKR!. I want that to be reality. Something that can compete with the Focus RS, Mk7 Golf R and whatever hot hatch is on the road right now. GM needs to open their eyes and realize that there is an enthusiast base that wants to buy a GM product and doesn't just want a top dollar muscle and sports cars/sports sedans. Instead there are plenty of us who want stupid fast hatches.
It was literally caused by the success in NHRA... GM Performance's FWDPRO Cobalt was a 1600hp monster that was slaughtering the 1/4 and getting within .5 seconds of PROSTOCK cars with 4x the motor. It seems GM's interest in building somewhat interesting 4cyl's died with the recession and the Cobalt SS. Would be interesting to know more about the internal politics of that, because the Cobalt SS's always moved pretty well off the lots.
I mean.. they were really dedicated to 4cyl performance for a while there.
GM needs to get their head out there pitoot and make a SS or and RSS (I perfer the Rally Super Sport monicker) model of the Sonic to compete against the Focus RS, Civic RS, Golf R, etc... I would def buy one.
Or I'll just buy an RS and build it into one to go with my sedan [emoji41].

Honestly I'm real close to just saying "**** it" and trying to find a way to cram the 2.0l from the SS and it's transmission into my poor sanic. I'll prolly end up trying it after this build and then the next build once I blow this one up, then I'll blow that one up and cram the combat ss' motor in cause "**** it"i dont think the sonic competes with those cars. seems like thats in the same size range as the chevy cruze.
chevy needs a fiesta st answer.
they could at minimum give us a 1le package sonic.
Just curious why you didn't have it replaced under powertrain warranty? At 6 miles under 29,000 my water outlet went out on me. So I replaced that. And since it required me to remove my cold side intercooler pipe, I went ahead and changed my oil and filter. Also cleaned the mess the antifreeze left behind on the transmission.
