Sonic sales taking a dive

Chevrolet is not selling here anymore but the price difference between Sonic and Cruze means 15 months of salary with the minimum wage in Turkey, because of the taxes. Countries like us still needs the Sonic. Chevrolet said the reason for they quit from the Europe market is Chevrolet has better value than the Opel and they can't focus on selling the Opel models. They sold the Opel to the Frenchs last year. They should definitely come back now. Making a small car for the America is not makes any sense. There is a land of small cars in the world and that land is called "Europe". Ford Fiesta is the best seller small car of the Europe. It sells better than the Volkswagen Polo. They should learn something from the Ford. Still, my previous car was an old Fiesta and I've checked the brand new Fiesta first before I bought the Sonic. I can say the Sonic is really a better car.

Yes, have seen that already here last Fall and has already been mentioned earlier in the thread. Good for someone wanting a Cruze.
Going to that link showed $16,000 to $17,000 Cruzes though. Plus, many dealers have the "fine print" that says "Price includes all *possible* incentives." And . ." Not available with special finance, lease and some other offers. "

Not all customers will qualify for things like a college, military or the "Conquest" or GM Card bonus cash.


And. . lastly, most of us here want a Sonic rather than a Cruze . . . just because of other design features.

2019 order guide is now available! Basically the same configurations as 2018:

EDIT: The Order Guide page 5 says the 1.4T is standard on all models, coooool! (The 1.8L is mentioned, but only on p. 58, maybe an oversight.) A 2019 1.4T LS sedan just might be my next car people. I'll transfer my 15" aluminums (off a 2014 Sonic) to the new car and I'm all set. 6 speed manual yeah!

How will the pricing be compared to 2017-18 models?

Hope it stays lower and there are many rebates. There might be a resurgence in sales if all are the 1.4L and still can get manual shift. Plus. maybe even more after market engine upgrades or at least some bargain pricing?

Good question, I'm assuming pricing will be about the same. Right now there's very little discounting compared to Trax/Cruze--only $500 I think--but I assume they'll have their usual sales at some point. Next February I'll have owned my Sonic for four years, might not be a bad time to sell, still a year left on the powertrain warranty. Maybe I'll see if there are some discounts on the 2019s at that point. If not I don't mind keeping the 2015!

Looking ahead, let's be optimistic and say there's going to be a new-generation Sonic in 2-3 years. The next Trax might be a 2021 (probably released fall of 2020), which has the same platform as Sonic, maybe they'd do it then. The next-generation Sonic/Trax might offer 1.5T, lighter weight, etc.

I'm glad for the folks that are into (and like) the car that GM will keep it another year. That's good news for the Sonic fans.

Me personally, the Sonic is akin to a dishwasher (it does a job, nothing special, lackluster at best), but I know others feel otherwise, so kudos on that.....
