I picked the closest one to OEM from our color chips, then I painted both pillars so that I knew it would be an absolute match. It would’ve bugged me if I hadn’t painted it. Just really depends on how picky you are about things like that. It may not bother most.

I have a few side by side photos of the original pod color versus the OEM one in some earlier posts here. Check them out and see what you think about the difference.

I've been toying with the idea of painting my pillars blue...but then there is such a fine line between cringy interior color mods and classy colored factory trim.

Agreed. I thought about painting them black to match the dash, but I figured I’d go ahead and keep it OEM looking.

Intake manifold surgery day.

Looking at the stock check valve, it’s amazing that they even last dozens of miles, much less thousands. I’m feeling like this is almost a necessity for all owners.

Curious as to if this was pretty straight forward. Zzp’s website says the inter cooler kit doesn’t fit the 17’ and 18’ without “modification”. What did you have to do to get it to fit?

All you have to do is take out the black plastic air guide piece that’s around the edges of the stock one. Everything drops right into place. Great fit.

Oh, I also had to loosen an 8mm bolt on the condenser on the passenger’s side to slide the core in. No big deal at all.

Here’s a picture of the piece that had to be removed for the new core to fit.

EDIT: I was in a hurry to finish, but the next time I get into something on the car, I’m going to see if I can trim it to fit the new core. I’d prefer to have the air directed into the IC as much as possible.

Awesome!! Thanks for the description! Are you running a tune?

Also, do you plan on doing a rear disc brake conversion? ZZP has one on their website to replace the rear drums, but I want to know if it fits before I buy haha.

I may do rear discs when it’s time to change brakes, but I’m not going out of my way for it. Still on the stock tune for now. Going with BNR eventually.
