'17 Krypton Green Build

Soooo I wrestled with whether or not to start a thread but I finally gave in.

Before we get started....I'm pretty new to all this. I anticipate this being as much a help thread as a build thread....ahahaha
Also I am currently a broke-aas entrepreneur so this will likely be an ol thread before it's complete.

That being said, I'm in love with this little green machine!
Currently pretty much stock other than some minor exterior appearance mods.

Looking to do intake and exhaust as a start, like a lot of folks.

But first I have to deal with a few things that are bothering me and I want to be on top of.

Starting with boost and temp gauges/pods. Then a catch can/pcv mod.

As a side note, what is considered safe/reliable power for this motor with stock turbo? Is 200ft/lbs unrealistic/unsafe?

And I suppose as a first update....ordered some pods. Incase anyone was interested. Couldn't bring myself to spend 170 bucks on a zzp pillar only to cut it up....Also...broke....lol

I have to say I highly recommend the MPFab intake and ZZP exhaust. Great fitment and quality.

MPfab is my ideal intake. I'm watching the forum for a decently priced used one.
ZZP exhaust sounds amazing....I wouldn't go any other way. Especially once I get into tuning.

So I just snatched up an older gen ZZP intake off of kijiji for 135 CAD shipped! It's no MPFAB but when you're rocking the Poorman budget there are only so many options. Also might have a line on a ZZP muffler for around 150CAD in basically unused condition. Will keep the thread updated as I go. Also planning some more stickers and a new hood wrap.

RokBloks should be here in about a week.

So just a quick update:
I warned you guys this was gonna take forever [emoji23]
I've been fighting with Chevy trying to get my car fixed so haven't even been driving it as it's been in the shop.

Have the rockblox installed, and then colormatched my intake tube to the logo. (Just got a couple spraybombs made up.)
Beyond that I haven't had much chance to do anything.
Decided to try my hand at exhaust work as I'm too broke to pick up a cat back...hahaha. (damn you and your trade war trudeau!) The jetta will be my test car. Snagged a 3" f150 ecoboost straight pipe exhaust for free so I'm gonna cut that up and see how it goes. If it turns out as nicely as I hope then I might do a 2.5" on the sonic with a borla muffler.

If you looking for boost/temp gauge I would recommend running a ultraguage display,a lot of options for readouts and the ability to read and clear codes here’s a link

I read the thread about the boost leak, and it makes me glad I decided to go ahead with my tune and hardware upgrades. Between all those issues and the amount of knock retard I’m seeing on the stock tune, I think I’ll take my chances on a potentially voided powertrain warranty. Updates coming in my thread.

I'm also leaning more and more that direction. I called GM Canada and they told me even if I replaced the bpv with an oem original it would void my warranty because I'm not a certified tech. I mean **** that.

Temping and would be handy but my brother has all the equipment needed for code scanning/clearing etc. Also I don't think the refresh rate looks quick enough in the video to catch my boost issue. Otherwise that's a pretty slick rig...maybe in future.

This is a 2.5" Off of a 2015 mustang. Only mounted for 1 summer so it's pretty much mint!
This should give me everything I need and then some to fab up an exhaust including cat delete.
It was gonna cost me over 100 shipped just for the bends in order to fab my own (Not including cat delete). Then I'd have to buy more straight sections to complete, plus a muffler. This is gonna cost me 100CAD even.

If anyone is interested I can do up a how-to in the DIY section. This is my first time so if I can do it so can you.
