Replace timing belt 97,500 (or 3 years, whichever comes first). (Applies to: 1.8 L)
Maintenance Schedule for your 2015 Chevrolet Sonic
Replace timing belt, idler pulley, and timing belt
tensioner (or 3 years, whichever comes first).
(Applies to: 1.8 L)
I pulled this maintenance schedule off the GM website. The mileage interval is 97,500 which seems reasonable, but the 3 years seems unreasonable low.
You would have to drive 32,500 a year to make those match, when average driving is only 12 - 15,000 per year. That would put some average people changing it at 36,000.
I noticed some 2012 owners in this thread planning a change so assume they ran way past the three years. Anyone think the 3 years should be followed?
