Access port?

I know with my brothers Subaru and the evo and even Honda has the hondata, but does anyone know if there are plans for an access port for the sonic?

best bang for the buck would be the trifecta tune...can't change it like an accessport, but you can turn it on and off and get it re-tuned when you get new mods...

As mentioned, get a Trifecta tune. With the switching feature, it is almost like the AP. And unlike an AP, a thief can't steal your Trifecta tune. I'm going to guess that AP will not be making anything for the Sonic.

Even with a tune it's nice to have an Access port. You have the ability to measure boost and have Launch Control, a HUGE feature that many of my Subaru buddies enjoy.

once the tune is installed, you do a data log and email it in and they'll adjust your tune for you

So I found an authorized dealer here in NY that does the tune. So all I have to do is have him install the tune, then send the info to Trifecta and I'll be all set?

Hp tuners is supporting the sonic which means you can get an AP option. Options like launch control 2step boost control and all using your stock ecu.

Us companies don't make cars long enought to invest there money in them. But if they did Id be the first one to have one. Hit up Vince hes the best here.

I agree, Cobb is a niche type company. They got into tuning Honda's for a little bit but they never mastered it like Hondata and kind of just tucked their tails and left that scene. Now Subaru's, they are great and if I would have gotten a WRX instead of my 09 Si back in the day they would have been the turner of choice. Trifecta and Vince are the best bet and he keeps adding new features to our cars all the time. If you want a hand held Vermont is the only option I would go with.

Sounds good thanks guys. Im already banking on the trifecta tune but it would be nice to have a launch control or be able to change my maps at will. I'll def look into an app though for the iPhone.

If you have cruise control you will be able to change between two maps without even plugging anything into your car. With cruise activated you have the Eco tune (low boost) active, with it off you have the Power tune (high boost) active. And I am sure that Vince can do something with the rev limiter at zero mph to give you some kind of launch control. On Hondata with my 09 Civic Si that's all I could tell that launch control was. You just set rpm you want to launch at and the bounce to the same rpm or 100 rpm apart.

Just a heads up Boostnsonic, Vince was a Microsoft engineer in a previous life and the only way to run the Trifecta tune on an Apple device is with one of those sideways? programs.
