Sorry to inform you, but it's not linear, period.
Gears are linear, sure, that's a given.
Engines are *not* linear and they are part of that equation.
What it would take to be able to achieve those numbers would blow your mind, or your motor.
Please, show me the dyno sheet that disproves that fact, I'd love to see it.
CoHPhasor, wow, I think you are misunderstanding the chart I made! No where does anyone say the car can actually go 217 mph
It's a theoretical chart, so yes it is linear...
If I recall correctly, someone said the actual top speed was 124 mph, with stock tune, power limited.
If you read my original post for that chart, I jokingly say you would need 800 horsepower to go 217 mph Please do not quote me on the 800 horsepower, that is only a guesstimate!
The chart you are thinking of is 'driving force' versus 'road speed' so it has 6 lines, one for each gear ratio. If you know drag (aero & mech) versus speed, you can draw in that curve also. Where they cross is your top speed. I don't have drag info.
