225/45R18 with Buick Encore (the nice ones) wheels - would it fit hatchback?

My apologies if this has been answered before. I may already have the answer since user NORCAL SS has the same setup but he's driving a sedan and I have the hatchback. I'm basically trying to make sure that I can use 225/45R18; I had ordered 225/40R18 but after seeing NORCAL SS car I wanted to have the extra padding. I am currently running 215/50R17 on stock LTZ wheels and the tire diameter is 25.5"; 225/45R18 would increase the diameter to 26". I believe there's space between the tire and the strut base at that size but since I have the hatchback I wanted to really make sure. Thanks!

Compare width and height of new tires and original tires. They need to clear the inner fender/steering linkage/whatever at full lock left and right. Also ck backspacing of new rims. They must match or be a little shallower than original rims.
Talk to any tire shop and they can better explain the above.

I may have the answer if Discount Tire Direct is correct. Don't know why the image is so small but 225/45/18 would fit (classified as oversized).

Update: mystery over; they fit like a glove.
