6t30 transmission problem

What is it costing roughly to install a new Trans? Parts and Labor?
Well I think I live anywhere near you but all I can say is parts are very expensive since they are imported. Labor on the other hand is very cheap.

Since you have the 1.4L, the trans you should have is a 6T40 trans. The 1.8L motor is paired with a 6T30.
Unfortunately I don’t know the trans code for the 6T40 but the 6T30 is 2GBS for the 2012 model year.(the 2 stands for the year)

I searched and found the trans code, it belongs to a 2013 car and tranny is built on mid-2012. Told me tranny is from a different car so the gear ratios are different. That made sense :blankface:

If it was from a different model car, yes the ratios would be different. If it came from a sonic, then they are not.

it's a sonic but with an another engine, i just wanna make sure which version it is.

See if it has the same bad shifts in manual mode.
I've had 3 2012-2013 sonics, all with the 6-sp auto. They rarely shift bad. When it does, it is low on fluid.
No that’s no correct. I know several people from these forums and in person that have shift problems and their fluid is full.

Do you know if the transmission was ever changed? If not, then that mechanic doesn’t know what they are talking about.
