Cracked windshield already...

Sigh.

I've had the car just over a month and the windshield got cracked. I heard the loud tick of a roadstone, but didn't see anything right away. Within 10 seconds, I heard a slight crack, looked over and there was a 4" crack midway up the right side going towards the center of the windshield. 3 seconds after that, another slight crack...and it basically ended up with a 9" crack that curved up and slightly back towards the edge again.

Not sure yet what the repair cost, but I don't know yet if it'll be much over the 500 buck deductible. Probably less...

If you can find a shady safelight technician, it'll cost you 50 bucks. ;P Unfortunately, I believe the Sonic windshield is over the $500 deductible. My cracked windshield (also about a month of ownership) is what prompted me to switch to a $0 deductible for comprehensive.

Grr...530 bucks + tax and some other fees, so...all out of pocket for me.

You should get a $0 comprehensive deductible. I used to worry about what act of god would smash my car day to day; gone are those days! I park where I want, and I happily drive through sandstorms and gravel truck wash.

damn sonic windshields are that much? my buddy has a cruze with a cracked windshield and he took it to our body shop and the price there was just at bout 450$ but he also did another 4500$ in damage to the car aswell

i've also a crack of 40cm!!

that was driving on highway with a stone!

So my car is at the shop for rock damage, again, and I asked them to measure the cracks for me. It was an X of two cracks. The long one measured 15" and the smaller one was 8".
