Hi I'm Wade I live in chamberlain South Dakota. I have a inferno orange 2012 sonic lt 1.4 turbo sedan. I haven't done anything to it yet... I got it a couple weeks ago and I'm still loving it. I plan on getting the stage 1 kit from bnr the price is really good and everything... I did have some questions though as far as will putting on a catless downpipe void a warranty... I also have no emissions checks in south Dakota either so I have no worries as far as needing the cat. I also was wandering does anyone know of the best set up for a turbo exhaust system I want it louder than stock but not to loud either.... Im not looking to go straight pipe... Just ideas on ways to keep the sound lower but also still be able to hear something too. Any ideas on other parts available for the sonic please let me know thanks.

I had my second cat and resonator removed, then had a 2.5 inch pipe put in from the first cat back. I ended with an O'Reilly's exhaust tip with built in resonator, and I think it might be what you're looking for.

Hey Eric.Smit, I listened to your setup for your sonic and that sounds awsome! A nice deep aggressive tone but isnt over the top loud. Any chance you could make a video of your sonic driving and a drive-by to get an even better listen of how it sounds under a load driving. Nice setup man! Prob be next year before i get a setup done on my 1.8L. I havent decided what muffler i want to add yet. thinking a Flowmaster 60 series but aint sold just yet. I want to hear it but not be overly loud as i have to drive in the wee hours of the morning for work. again, nice setup.

So you have no second cat, no resonator and no muffler ? Just a resonator tip ? It sounds awesome. So basically you just have straight pipes all the way back.

So prolly putting a cat back or custom exhaust with a resonator and changing the flex pipe out for a larger pipe and high flow cat will probably be what I should be looking at then. So what would a muffler even sound like on that thing pretty much nothing ?

Muffler = Quiet.

I have a trifecta tune, a ZZP intake, the exhaust, and eibach lowering springs for performance. Shift knob, tints, mudflaps, and some vinyl for appearance. Bnr was the place I was going to use to get the majority of the stuff I had on my list. I think ddm has maybe one or two things I did want from them too. Intercooler diverter if anyone has tested it lemme know. They said the new cat backs should be up this week for the sedan so I've just been waiting till that happens lol.
