Hill Hold Assist - Is Yours Working?

Works but on some hills when I try to take off my car just bucks and dies...

I've only noticed it once or twice under actual driving conditions, but when it does i just sit there for a minute going "hey thats cool!" and once it releases I finally start going.

There are definitely pluses and negatives. I'm not sure if I like it or not. It makes things a bit tricky when you need to get into traffic at a moments notice.

hmm some times it work sometimes not!

I know the ford transfer has the function

you get car in first gear
kick the clutch
kick the brake 3sec

And the car stay the hole time not only 3 sec

Tested mine today on a steep hill and it works fine. It will not hold if you are going downhill. However, if you put it in reverse going downhill it will hold. I guess the feature is designed to prevent you from rolling downhill if that was not the direction you wanted to go.

I didn't even know it even existed until a week or two after I got my car and it kicked in when I was on a hill. I was like "whoa...cool!" Been driving MTs for 25 years, including several visits to San Fran when I lived in Cali back in the early 90s. I've never had an issue with hills, but I certainly love this feature.

That goes away when you pull the brake fuse. I do not miss it.... even a little.

It's easy to blackout the ABS warning light, but I just got used to the t/c and p brake light staring at me all the time. It's like a disco party in my gauge cluster.

I like it when I'm on a hill. It's actually kind of nice to not have to hustle the brake to gas transition. I hate it when I'm trying to back out of a hilly parking spot.

Mine works fine but I don't like it !! I wish There was a way to hook a switch up to it just on and off and use it as a electronic parking brake, if anyone figures it out post a how to thread

I thought mine was ineffectual as well. I remembered the salesman saying it had it but I never felt it working.. likely cause most stops around me are flat haha..

Personally I don't need it as I just work the parking brake on hills. If this car had a foot parking brake this would be a really nice feature.. something about working the clutch, brake, gas and reaching down to release the pedal e-brake just sounds challenging

I find that most of the time I am trying to move forward before the break stops holding me. It slows me down from. Wing able to move fwd quick, yet it does keep me from Rollin back at all so when it does release I am instantly moving fwd.

in order for this function to kick in the vehicle must be on an incline or decline of 5%. It just operates the isolation valve in the abs system and releases it after 2 second after itr sees the brake switch released. It actually is giving your clutch some extra life and most people dont know it.

I don't think I've ever had to use this. Usually don't have my foot on the brake on hills.

If you reach under the steering column there's a little hole/slit that you can stick your finger in. Feel around for a switch and wiggle it back and forth until the car honks signaling it has be activated/deactivated.

i can almost guarantee your hill hold works. your not on a hill that is steep enough..

My driveway isn't that steep at all and I can feel the hill assist work every time I let off the brake (from a stop). Though only in reverse, regardless if I'm facing uphill or downhill.

I tried this...... my car didn't honk, but it came like you wouldn't believe.
