Update on CAI. They most likely will only be doing short ram.

This is what the guy said:
"*I know that cost/benefit on the cold air systems has been showing them to not be as great as previously thought. We have been getting similar (sometimes better) results under the hood without the greater risk of water ingestion that the cold air systems bring."

That's just lazy. Water ingestion is defeated by a bypass coupler.

But why spend the extra money if similar (sometimes better) results can be had without it or the risk.

I trust K&N as well, if they say that a risk (valve or not) is negligible to a loss over a safer alternative, that's the route I would go.

rdss-Agreed. I actually do like K&N as well; the body shop couldn't get a factory air box for the wife's mustang and offered me a choice of aftermarket intakes and I went with K&N. It was mostly because I like K&N, and partly because all the other options required a retune, which is expensive on the mustang.

Phoenix- If better results can be had without it, that's the way to go but I do like because racecar.
