Ah well, at least I'm not the only one to think that... my wife mentioned the same thing not long ago... so did one of our friends.
I guess you have to be a long-time Star Wars fan to appreciate it, or possibly to even notice in the first place.

Not exactly sure - I've heard mention of a "death star" though.

At least one forum member ordered and installed then posted a picture(s) of the result. I do not recall the thread (this is not something that interests me) but its here on the forum. I also do not recall if they ordered direct or if a European member got them and forwarded them to the US.
The picture shows there is a huge difference in appearance.

I still need to locate leatherette ones.
I thought I saw them on the Mexican version.

There's another little button on the other side. And you have to fold the seat forward to avoid the ceiling.

Eric -- do you have any pictures of this? I'm wondering if this would help with the awful forward-canted problem, because they're thinner. I wouldn't have them all the way down; rather, they'd probably be raised fully above the seat. Wonder if you looked at them this way and if they still looked silly.

Have we confirmed? Is leatherette available from Mexico? If so, how do we acquire?

Looks like this car has the cool low-profile headrests, just like the Euro Aveo models. Again, Sonic, what's with the horrible high headrests???
I wonder if the SS ones would fit the Sonic? if they're not too thick, might be a good alternative to ordering them from Europe.

FYI, the Spark has similar style headrests in the back seat. I tried one out in the front seat of the Sonic, but it still pushes your head fairly far forward (since it's designed to sit over the front face of the seat) -- and looks pretty stupid to boot. This would all totally depend on how tall you are and if your seat is all the way back.
Hmmm. How do you suppose you go about ordering some of those? Or even finding out how much they would cost? I looked at gmparts.com.mx but the sonic is not listed.
As an aside, in one of the pics of the interior I noticed that they have an option for orange seat inserts on the cloth seats. I like that. Much nicer than the grey cloth here (I managed to get an LTZ so I have the leatherette, but the orange cloth looks really nice to me).

Joining this thread, I hate the big headrests because i have to take them out to lay the seats down to put my roadie in the trunk.. Looking for a link to get the leatherette ones from somewhere
