Window Tint

One thing to remember is that tint laws are different in each state. I know that in Illinois you can have limo in the back if there is none on the front, or 35% all around and up to 6 inches from the top of the windshield.

I did learn from my previous vehicle is that black in the back is not always better. Put some shades on and it's nearly impossible to see out of the back window. You really start to appreciate those day-time running lights 
From now on, I'll be doing legal all the way around. In MO, you can have as black as you want in the back but the driver and passenger window need to be legal (15% I think).

Check it out, man. Better to be sure than having to rip a tint job off after doing it.
Oh and, my recommendation? Have a pro who guarantees the work do the tint for you. It's well worth the cost if you've never done a tint before. Then again, that's just my .02!

this isn't always true, i've tinted all my cars with great results. you just have to really take your time, your going to mess it up. A LOT. you just have to learn what to do to not crease, and clean the crap out of the glass before hand so no dirt is showing threw.
i use super limo black from pepboys or auto zone, this wont show up purple like most tints. if you have a window that is big or has alot of curvature to it i would recommend letting a pro do it. but just make yourself up a mix of dish soap/ water, clean your window, peel the film and SOAK, don't be afraid to use the spray. soak the tint and the inside of the glass and work out large bubbles with your hands, then come in with a plastic squeegee, or your id, whatever, be careful not to let the tint fold in on itself. any problem areas that dont want to work a bubble out get a heat gun, hairdryer works to but not as good and heat it up this will dry the glue. windows you have to push the tint below the weather strip and leave a little excess, then trim a few days latter. DO NOT PUT WINDOWS UP OR DOWN FOR A FEW DAYS, let the glue dry. trim with a razor. you can get really good results if you just take your time and keep it clean.

If you do it yourself and it screws up, then you have to go through the sometimes painstaking process of removing tint and all associated materials.
If a pro does it and it screws up, they remove everything and replace, free of charge. (Providing one chooses a reputable installer to begin with)
I know what I just stated is fairly obvious. But some people in haste fail to consider such things with, not only tinting, but with a host of potential do-it-yourself projects.
I have seen decent DIY tinting, but it's so rare I can count it on half the fingers of one hand.
If you do try it, after cleaning multiple times, wipe down with alcohol multiple times after the initial cleaning... make sure no grease/oils/cleaners/solvents remain.

Unlike many tints it is extremely clear (once the water is evaporated from between the glass and the film).
Living near Hotlanta, I have had to keep rags or gloves handy to be able to hold the steering wheel, but this stuff is great. For many cars (and especially hatchbacks) the windshield has the most surface area exposed to the sun, so on my VW, I had them apply the lightest colored film to my windshield and the difference in how hot the interior get is amazing. If I am wearing dark pants and the sun is full on, this film makes a huge difference.
Sure, it is illegal to add tint to the windshield, but it is not like the police are looking for it, and this stuff is too light in color to draw attention.
I completely forget it is there except when I realize I am comfortable in a situation I expect to be too hot!
The only down side is you would lose the film if your windshield was replaced (be quick to use window repair services before the crack lengthens). Also, I do not mount my GPS on the windshield because I am worried that the film might abrade where the suction cup contacts it, leaving a hazy ring.
