For reference the stock pressure plate was tested at 1100 lbs.

Stage 1 is 1500, stage 2 is 1700, and stage 3 is 2000 lbs


Stage 1 is a very nice upgrade for most everyone right now, some may even need the stage 2 already!

The torque ratings are VERY conservative on our site... Meaning it will hold, with no issues the listed rating. Most likely more IMO.

Will the stage 2 hold 250 consistently? I think the extra $50 for the 3 will be more peace of mind.

I think for $50 more I would get the stage 3.

Also I always think of it this way:

If you get an item, and are always running it right up to the max, it seems to wear out faster. If you get something and run it half of max, it last a long time, as you are not stressing the object nearly as much.

Not exactly when it comes to clutches. The torque kills the trans, if stage 2 clutch is not slipping with your given torque, then stage 3 with the same given torque will not add any additional stress to the trans.

Are you planning on making a lighter flywheel for the sonic or having something like a cor exchange where we send in stockers and you send us back a lightened o.e.m. flywheel?

Very close to the same weight as stock, at most 1 lb lighter due to the puck style disc.

As I posted in the other thread, our feelings on light weight flywheels:

"I use to be a aluminum/light weight flywheel fan. Not no more... Even though we sell them (for other applications) they are weaker/break, and suck to daily drive, as you can kill the engine so easy!

Stock flywheel is the best route IMO."

Would it be possible to make a lighter steel flywheel? I think taking 5 - 7 pounds off the rotating mass would pep the car up noticeably and still keep the car from throwing temper tantrums while creeping around town. More of a happy medium.

Just a thought.
