CC, Selectatune, and MPG

I'm curious about this as well. I didn't realize that there was any opportunity for adjustment on the budget tune. I use Eco mainly due to its day to day drivability, but having more throttle play area on performance mode would be very interesting...

I just ordered my tune on Saturday an I'm waiting on the email from Vince an I just got the basic tune for the automatic an was hoping to see better MPGs with the eco mode but from what you guys are saying seems like it hurts it more then helps... should I have asked for the performance/stock tune instead? An I wish Vince could do like a stock/eco/performance modes all in one tune. Like have Drive for eco then Manuel mode for performance an if if ur CC is on then puts everything to stock No matter if in D or M or some other combo of this nature... would have a lot of advantages in my opinion but I probably just dreaming a little too hard 
Yes, like you said it seems like about 90-95% of what it was prior to Vince adjusting it.
I consider it a fair trade off since it is so much easier to take of normally now instead of jumping ahead at the slightest touch of the throttle!
Also the main reason I had asked him about it is because my wife has a 2012 Cruze with the 1.4L Turbo as well. When you switch back and forth on a weekly basis between a tuned car and a stock it is very hard to get used to the touchy throttle. My wife didn't like it as well, and I admit it was harder to get used to before he adjusted it.
I did save a copy of the original tune so I could go back to it if I wanted to, but I don't plan on it now since I prefer it a little less touchy.

I'm thinking of having my tune updated to select between red pill and blue pill. My "red pill" clutch is sitting on my porch, I've already got the sensors installed, injectors in the trunk, and "blue pill" tune in my inbox, just waiting for me to get home.
I've got a glove box full of gas receipts, I've been switching back and forth between modes each tank, and trying to write down which was which, so I should have some longer term data that isn't as susceptible to road conditions. Simply going by UG short trip MPG, though, the results look pretty consistent... and my best MPG seems to be in Performance when I'm not paying attention, say talking on the phone.
I'm particularly surprised that CC isn't doing better, since I keep the lowest average MPH with it on. I'd have thought my tendency to bump up to 80 instead of staying at 75ish would really be costing me.

IIRC he went with Clutchmasters and also got a lighter flywheel. I will be on the edge of my seat for this one.
In other news, today will be my first 100 mi work/school roundtrip commute on e85. I'm going to try for max MPG and see what kind of loss I'm looking at. So far around town I haven't seen better than 20MPG, but that's no surprise since I'm having a hard time staying out of WOT.......even when parallel parkingopcorn:

I have not had my budget tune adjusted. I am happy with the power mode as long as i am not switching back and forth with the eco mode. My foot is now calibrated to the sensitive pedal and i actually prefer it.
I plan on staying in power mode 100 percent of the time

The only adjustment i want to my Budget tune is swapping ECO to CC off as i use CC allot and having ECO mode is nice for when it goes to the dealership.

You'll be panicking when your car ends up needing a roadside assistance tow and it goes straight to the dealership without you having an opportunity to flash back to stock.
That's another reason I think the ECO tune needs to be close to stock and the default mode with cruise off.

I agree, I don't need to flash it back to stock when it goes in that's why i enabled transparency mode. I only want them swapped because i prefer the power mode and i like to use CC on the freeway, Then I'm only a downshift away from whooping that civic's butt on the freeway

Hopefully not . I sent bnr an email last weekend asking the cost to convert my budget tune to stock while cc is off....... and power while cc is on. Still waiting to here back.....if it is the same cost as upgrading to full tune then i may go that route with stock though not eco

After giving it some thought, there is no way Im getting the MPG on e85 that the ECU is reporting. It must calculate mpg from injector pulse time, and does not factor for the extra fuel passing through on each pulse of the larger injectors.
Ill have to find my average from miles/gallon to get accurate results

I'm not worried about transparency mode as much as I am about a dealer technician just knowing what a stock Sonic should feel like. The last thing I need is them taking my car for a spin to check for something like a brake pulsation and realizing this thing has WAY more get up and go that it should. That's what will make them start looking.
For that precaution I personally want the ECO mode to be as close to stock as possible and the default mode of operation. Probably a safe bet for most others to have it setup that way. That way I can treat the cruise control button like a pseudo nitrous button when I need some extra giddy-up....

Got my injectors installed, ran the flash, so I'm alcohol capable now. I ran a data log on my standard E10 93 with the new injectors, then went and filled up with E85, 8.2 gallons, which means I had about 4 gallons of E10 left, and which means I'm now running E60 (or less, since E85 on label may be as low as E70).
Starts rough, and idles poorly, other than that it works fine. I can't feel "more power" on the butt dyno, but I am now smoking tires in first without turning the TC off.
I'll put up an install post later, if I can't find one from Preloader. Took lots of pictures.
MPG on the UG is reading pretty much the same as before, like Preloader I do not believe this to be accurate, but if it is... $3.24 per gallon is pretty sweet.
I really must have the UG set up wrong, by the way, as it continues to top out at 199.9 torque no matter what I do.
