I cold started it while it was backed up to my open garage. Walked in the garage, and it smelled straight up like Spiced Rum. It was actually quite strong and a little disturbing for me given that I'm a recovering alcoholic.

Once it's warmed up, it doesn't seem to smell like anything.

I need a tire expert to help me with selecting tires. I don't care about keeping stock OD, what is a good width and sidewall?
The stock 17x6.5 have 205/50 shoes. The Opels are 18x7.5, and I'm thinking 205/40 would look nice. That wouldn't look to stretched would it?

I wouldn't consider it a stretch, what is the offset on the opels... If its fairly high, I'd just roll your fenders and run a 215/40. I'm more of a meaty tire person though.

They are 42mm offset, add an additional 12mm for half of the extra width of the rim and it puts me at 6mm less that flush.

I am a fan of meat (yes homo), but no more than the look of the stock meat.

I ran 215/45 all day on my 17x7.5 there was also a point in my life I tried running a 235/45 on the same wheel lol

I am running 225/45/17's on LTZ wheels and have no problems. I am not sure how pushing the wheels out on spacers will affect my clearance though, next time I'm outside I will throw a tape measure on it. I would at least run a 215 on a 7.5" wide tire if not a 225.

225's with my spacers will rub fender if you are lowered. My 205s scrubbed a lil paint off mine already.

Well, that solves that dilemma. It's either flush of lowered for me I guess. Thanks for the heads up!!

I believe 19 mm is the thinnest adaptor for functionality reasons. It's just thick enough for the spacer lugs to bury below the hub surface but just enough aluminum left for the adapter nuts to have something to bolt down on.

Just a thought, my wife's mustang's stock wheels are 17x8 and a 235/55 is the perfect tire shape in my eyes.

granted, that beefy of a tire wouldn't really fit right under a sonic on 17s, but that's why I'm looking at 15s or 16s.
