I find it odd as well. Might just be that peak torque only went up a little, but torque went up greatly everywhere else?? It feels peppier compared to what i remember, but i rarely drive like a dick, so I do not have a great butt dyno for before and after. Compared to Zippypcs car, its a turd even with what I have done.

Man I thought you would be leaving me in the dust before long.

Added a few non performance items today. They will actually hamper performance a little, but the added practicality will be worth it.

The hitch will eventually provide me with a good mounting point for a full belly pan when the time comes.

Used velcro straps to hold the rear brake on, and the front wheel and bottom tube to the rack. Very stable, no rubbing, and no spinning wheels.

55-60 just about all freeway with no traffic for the 44.9. I was quite pleased, but am hoping for better.

so now I have to do some math, 15-20mph slower but 8 more mpg

so over the course of my trip from nc to ny itll take me an extra 2 hours

bout 720miles, figured 3.75 a gallon for gas

but ill save about 15 bucks in gas.. I think if my math is correct.. thought id save more tho.. also take into consideration a little more ease on the engine.. turning about 2200rpm vs 3400rpm for that long ya know?

The hitch was easy to install by myself.

I figure about an extra 10 minutes for every 70 miles I have to drive. To me the extra drive time is not an issue. I am never that pressed for time to get there and I prefer to minimize wear on the vehicle and slow down the draining of my wallet. With a 6 speed swap I feel the 1.8 is capable of 50 MPG at 60 MPH. My best so far was an average of just over 46 for a 350 mile return trip home.

hell yea dude, im in with the 6 speed swap, this car needs that extra gear on the highway.. and I agree with the less wear, I treat this car better than anything

I am still debating what M32 I want to use. I am bouncing between the Eco and SOnic 1.4 transmissions.

I think the standard Sonic 1.4T manual will provide the lower RPM without hurting normal driving.

I thought u were gonna steal my twin pipes idea out each side, so what one out the back one out the side? that sure is different lol what muffler is that? is it like a cutout setup?

Only one exit. inlet and outlet are on the same end of the muffler. I may need to use some black vinyl on the rear to hide the exhaust opening some though.

wow I didn't even notice!! sound clip!! and yea man I did a half ass thing with styrafoam like shaved it to fit, taped it up and cf vyniled over it, it was all good until I went through the car wash lol ill have to think of a more solid plan if I go back to the side exit.. a lot of ideas just a matter of skill and money

Changed the exhaust again. In my quest for the right sound and volume I am doing some trial and error. The last setup was great with the stock maniverter, but once the header was back in it became very loud and raspy. Replacing the ZZP cat with a Flowmaster HP2 shorty helped greatly, but produced a very tinny sound. So I ripped it out in favor of a different option.

Apparently this is the only picture I took that even shows the tip installed.




End result is that the tinny sound and rasp do not exist, however loud does not even begin to describe it.

Too loud as in it draws unwanted attention and is uncomfortable to listen to. I would not be surprised if it was over the legal limit.
