Day 2 of ownership is complete.
Can’t have that stock antenna, or the car looks like a remote controlled mouse.
The stock front bumper cover attaches in a horrible way if you’re ever going to take it off. It almost always breaks, so I fixed that permanently. I drilled out the OEM rivets, cut a notch behind the rivet locations, knocked down the edges with a file, squirted it with some Zero Rust, installed some u-nuts into the brackets, and attached them from the inside with some 7mm head screws. Now, I can unbolt the bumper cover instead of ripping it off.
Stock rivets.
Access notch cut.
U-nuts installed.
7mm head screws used.
Reattached loosely so that the bumper cover slides past.
One of the headlight bolts still holds the front of the bracket fairly tightly, but with these new screws loosened, the bracket has enough play to slide the bumper in and out easily. No more broken tabs!
Gauges.
Winter mats swapped in, and a shot of my neato racecar pedals.
Colder plugs for when I go forward with tuning.
Hood struts.
Tinted reflectors, headlights, and fog lights.
CAI installed.
I also made an interesting discovery. It seems that the 2019 comes with an ethanol sensor. My 2018 could not read alcohol percentage.
I sent my authorization code to BNR to start the tuning process, so I’ll have to ask him about what the deal is there. It would be weird for GM to start installing flex fuel sensors in them randomly when they’re still not considered a flex fuel vehicle, but maybe that’ll save some work on my end.
