Yes, this is the electric cutout that I’ll be installing in or around the down pipe to bypass the cat and both mufflers. The exhaust will be completely unrestricted when it’s open, and BNR said the tuning wouldn’t need any adjustments for the cutout. So, the car should run optimally whether it’s opened or closed.

I was saying it that way just to simplify the position in relation to the cat and mufflers. I’m going to put it where the high flow cat is located in the ZZP exhaust, and the cat and resonator will be moved back further.

That’s similar to how the satin black spray wrap looks, so I guess it’s a bit of a preview as to how the whole car will look. The satin black will be lower gloss still, but it’s not matte.

The latest development is that I’ll be trading this car in on a new 2018 or 2019 Sonic after the repairs are done. I just can’t bear sitting on a brand new car with a $5000 repair on its history. All the mods will be transferred over, and the build will continue as planned, although slightly delayed. There’s one 2018 hatch manual turbo that we can find in the country, and if that deal falls through, I’ll be placing an order for a built to order 2019.
My dealer is hooking me up with a great deal to replace this one in light of the circumstances. If anyone can get to Wills Point, TX Chevrolet for a new Chevy, I highly recommend them. They’ve always been great to my family and me. Ask for Curtis, and tell him Nathan sent you.

The 2018 Sonic I’m trying to get is the same color as mine. If that dealer doesn’t want to do the dealer trade, and I have to place an order for a 2019, I’ll go with Mosaic Black so that when I do the spray wrap, the insides of the panels will match better.
EDIT: I was afraid that 2019 would be the last year for the Sonic. I really want to get one before it’s too late, because the powertrain development is much further along than the LE2 motor that’s in the Cruze right now.

Aftermarket parts available. It’s relatively easy to get the LUV to 250whp and use flex fuel. The development isn’t that far along with the current Cruze motor. I’m sure it’ll get there, but I’m ready to get it done ASAP.

So, Mosaic Black 2019 it will be. I’m going in Thursday to place the order, and I should get the car in about 4 weeks. I’m going with a Premier manual hatch with a sunroof and sport pedals as the only options so far.
Does anyone have the driver confidence package? Do you like it? I’m on the fence about that one.

I’ve got the confidence package. It really isn’t all that great. The lane departure feature gets annoying. Anytime you change lanes without a blinker it beeps, and when it beeps, the radio goes off for like 3 seconds. I never use it because it annoys me.
The collision warning is alright. You can adjust it to three different distances or have it off. Right above the radio is a built in heads up display that lights up red when you approach someone too fast or ride their tails. The display also shows the lane departure feature. It’s most useful in cruise on highway. If somebody cuts you off, it brakes the car for you and turns off the cruise control. Same as the lane departure, the radio sound turns off for three seconds and you get a loud beep warning sound.
The backup assist beeping is useless. The backup camera shows everything, and you have to get CLOSE before they start beeping.
It also adds a lot of bulk to your rear view mirror. I don’t mind it but some people might.
I would only get the package if you drive lots of highway/interstate.
The 2018 package doesn’t have blind spot monitoring on the mirrors. Not sure if yours will
I would definitely get the convenience package. The keyless entry and push button start is great. I never have to take my key out of my pocket.
