Hummm... a gm rep just informed me that my car is being produced this week instead of last week. Strange since I was informed on the 30th that it was being assembled. Maybe its the color. Becky, if you have any additional info, that would be great! thanks...congrats to our second place winner!

wow, that is a lot of Sonics. I thought I read a thread that it is about 150 per day.
In any case, best of luck with your new ride!:)

Orion Assembly is four days a week, two ten hour shifts each scheduled work day.

VIN numbers are sequential and the plant produces both the Chevrolet Sonic and the Buick Verano, about 60% the former therefore 40% the latter.

Just two points of clarification.

I could very well be the color - the current status
shows 3300 TPW 5/27 - so something is off and
it could very well be that :confused:

Ah interesting. So likely the around 600 sonic number, was the amount they made that week. So 150 a day. Thanks for the info.

You're paint option is pretty high end for sonics with its $600 price tag so maybe some real magic goes down for the application.

The cool thing though is you have a chance at being the very last 2013 sonic to roll of the line, whereas mine is one of 600 from last week.

A slight recalc: Orion produces about 15,000 units a month therefore about 9000 Sonics. Figure 18 scheduled work days in the month would be about 500 Sonics per day or 250 per shift. Verano hoovers around 300 to 350 per day.

No VIN as of today :mad: and I'm reposting your
order #RBCQMH just to make it easier to find :)

I'll check again tomorrow. I did see at least
4 car haulers on the freeway this AM from the
Orion plant and there were a few of the White
Diamond Sonics - very very nice. It will be
worth the wait :D

Overall, I think it will be a pretty rare color for the Sonic.
Maybe we will have some news by the end of the week.

Becky, Just got off live chat from the chevy website. I am not sure how accurate this is. Maybe more info is available now that it is the end of the day. Can you confirm this?
They said my car was produced on 5/29. When I asked for a vin#, they said that they could not provide me with that information yet.:confused:

Here is one of the two chat sessions I had. The feedback from both were consistant with one another.

Regina:Thanks. I have some information. Your vehicle has been produced, there is not a VIN available yet. The vehicle is not in transit, no ETA when it will be in transit. This the only information available.

I have no idea of what they are looking at because if
a car is produced, there is a VIN #. Actually there is a
VIN# in advance of the car being built. As of today there
is still no VIN, but I'll continue to check :D Hang in there
it can't be much longer ;)
