I've had Bringgo running (Verizon Galaxy S3) running for a week now. But today was my first time to give it a real test, because I wasn't driving the work and errand routes I drive regularly. Bringgo did well. I sell real estate in a very rural area, and used it all day for showings today. It had all the little roads on it, and even some private ones.
I actually like picking addresses with Bringgo better than using the voice control (or typing) with Google Nav, because it uses the in-dash method of narrowing down choices as you type. With Google Nav, it can be hit or miss if you get the street name right, for example.
There are a couple of quirks, one related to Mylink. When I shut off the car to run into a store, Mylink shuts off. So when you start back up again, the Mylink has to blueeoth-pair with the phone again, and then you have to go to Bringgo on Mylink and bring it up (even if the phone has been on and in the car the whole time.) Bringgo takes about 15 - 20 seconds to load, so there's this delay before you can start navigating again. It would be great if Mylink had a 'sleep' mode that would keep Mylink 'running' for a period of time that could be set by the user (5 mins, 10 mins, 15 mins) but with the screen dark. That would keep the Mylink->phone connection with Bringgo running during a short stop.
Second, the 3D view doesn't work for me. The maps are flat on my screen, and toggling the 3D button doesn't change anything. This was true in and around NYC as well as here in upstate NY. I thought maybe there wasn't a 3D view for rural areas, but I can't get it to work in NYC and the suburbs either. Anyone on Android have 3D maps? Area you're in? Android or iPhone?
