That's why I have no interest in Top Speed discussions when it comes to the Sonic. Once you've tasted the acceleration of a motorcycle, and how quickly they can reach triple digit speeds, doing it in a car seems boring. I hit 130mph in commute traffic a couple times when I had my bike. That's like going through a parking lot a 65mph. It's a stupid thing to do, but I got it out of my system.

A slow bike is still faster than most cars.

Even a 200CC 2 stroke dirt bike is faster than most cars.

My boss has two that I think are rated 40HP? ****ty power curve but once you hit it holy crap, on a tiny bike.

Yeah, I'm not really in it for the speed. I would have been 10 years ago, but not so much any more.

I rode the bike through the countryside today. Rode slow, did the speed limit and didn't push any corners. Yet, it was a dammed good time. I enjoyed it immensely. I didn't want to park the bike when I got back.

Also. Went to a local largest bike gear store to try on some moto over pants. Wanted to see how they fit and feel. No luck, they don't have my length. ****.

I guess I'll just buy online and return if they don't feel good, but I was hoping to do a live comparison with a few different pants.

In the meantime, I'm considering just wearing jeans and changing at the office. **** it.

Saddly not all can achieve triple digit speeds. That being said, my slow bike is still a lot of fun to ride.

Should've clarified. That bike (race-modified '91GSX750R) was not considered a slow bike. It had all hardware air-craft wired, Stage III carb tuned, full V&H header, and timing advance kit. Approx ~110hp and estimated to do low 10's in the qtr.

But even the slower bikes I had owned prior to that were fast enough to scare a 2-wheel n00b.

I can imagine that 110 hp bike. Must have been fun feeling like you are about to detach your retinas. At least that's how I would have felt.

I figured you were talking about something much faster than what I have.

I think my bike is rated at a whole 34 hp and 30 ft-lbs. Its not fast, but its fast enough to get me into a lot of trouble if I let it. It is still quicker than my Sonic. Let the 1.8 comments begin....

See now when I told you to buy a small bike that's basically what I had in mind.

I was saying don't go out and buy a 100-150HP bike.

I am currently looking for a top box for mine, too. A bit of storage space would go a long way.

My riding season is still open, mostly. Some days are rainy but I have been able to get a couple rides a week. And not be cold.

My sister is a bit creeped out by clowns, and is currently on a family trip. I have been tasked with checking in on the two cats and turtle while they are gone. I suspect I may die shortly after they get home...
