I tried to order the Eibach's this morning at $379 but the order would not go through. That does not mean they are not available (H&R and Eibach are made in the same place) that just means for whatever reason I could not order them this morning when I tried.

They have a listing for both the h&r and eibach on tuners depot . I ordered a set of h&r today . It the only website that I could find springs listed for the sonic . I have h&r springs on my BMW 528i as well and love the handling and ride comfort was not affected .

Anyone have any idea of how lowering will effect our strut life? I know sometimes it doesn't have a huge effect on life span but others blow out after a very short time.

I believe the quality of the springs has a lot to do with that , i have bought cheap springs before and they did blow my struts on a volvo i had . This is the second time i buy h&r because it a superior spring and offers a smooth ride . If you want a more agressive spring go with the eibach . Both h&r and eibach wont drop your car no more than 2 inches so it should not affect the life of your struts.

Your struts and shocks are going out becuase the spring is to short for the shafts (shafts to long) and out of the operating limits of the shock/strut. That's why you should buy matching struts/shocks for the springs you buy. Granted if the factory shocks can handle the drop spring your good,I just wouldn't expect them to last the full service life.

Damn, any pics of recently lowered Sonics on Eibach or H&R springs yet? I'm curious to see the real world drops before i purchase either one, can't decide until I see some results (I want the brand with the best drop look cuz I can't stand the ugly bigass wheel gaps from the factory right now)! Post 'em up please!

Yeah I have already but those were prototypes remember? I wanna see recent pics of the final product, 1.2F/1.4R ain't too bad for the Pro Kit, wish they made a Sportline one though with more drop (2"+F/R), don't wanna get them & end up not recognizing that it's lowered (too subtle of drop). It'll look hella sick lowered with my black aftermarket rims, can't wait!

Hmmm, drop springs to get lowered two plus inches front and rear!
After the install, I propose we have a poll as to how many days the shocks last before one is blown. I'll take 330 days.

I'm going to give it 91.5 days. I would love to lower mine but I already scape my rubber wind curtain on the front of my car going into my drive...also...don't want to have to worry about blown struts...what would be nice if someone put together a spring and strut kit!

The Eibach lowering springs will be shipping the END of July. Dont over pay for these, we will carry them for a much better price than members have been stating in this thread. I did not notice, but it makes sense to me. Unlike an exhaust system which has to account for the difference in the length between the HB and the Sedan, the Sonic itself shares the same underpinnings whether HB or Sedan. I believe the only difference is the 15" rims have a firmer shock absorber than the 17" rim equipped cars, and that should make no difference as far as lowering coils.

Is this a fact? Cuz I want to upgrade to the 17in oem wheels from the 16in. Will this mean the road is just gonna be louder? I love the quiet ride

Yes it does mean that. I went from 15" to 17" but its so worth it.
