Has anyone had a tire rod end replaced at a certified repair shop and after the repair heard a clunking while turning the wheel? I can feel something moving directly under the driver's seat floor board also.
Try to buy the metal sway bar links when they fail. ZZP sells them. Dorman I think their metal factory. Plastic Chevy part, too me that was a stupid move and they cost more. Take car back and bitch. Lol. Could be a CV Joint or something else also etc. Or even a bad a alignment. Sometimes you can replace Tie Rods with out doing an alignment. And Certified means nothing. They’ll do work and they may have past some tests. Dosent mean they’ll do it right and every mechanic likes a shortcut.
I broke down in my 2014 International Friday. It’s a Big Beverage Truck with a trailer. They sent our mechanic out. Eric he’s a good guy. I was outside waste management. He’s like let’s take the truck and park it over their it’s garbage hahaha. He had to drain coolant. I’m thinking this won’t take long. Simple 3 inch hose to replace and drain coolant and fill back up. Very long time later. Back in the day on the DT466 engines lol you drain it and fill it back up. Not a 2014 Navistar Engine he had to use an air compressor to suck air out while it put coolant in, watching gauges and ****. I’m like why engine will build pressure. He’s like we gotta go by the book bro these new trucks are a pain in the ass. Im like so are we launching a rocket too. End of the day after more issues he goes close enough **** it. We just dumped the coolant in after half way getting it. Worked out! Using this as an example. His job was just to get me going again so I can finish the route. If my truck was in bay it would of had time spent on it.
Point is certified will shortcut if they think they can or run low on time and sometimes it works out other times it dosent. Either way it’s fixable. Just don’t pay for it unless the problem needed something else, Sometimes it’s not a complete diagnosis either. Mechanics usually know right away. But their is an occasion where it requires more work. And these engines only get more and more complicated and emissions related.
