Central Missouri? I would say that if your dealer's Sonics come by truck, March 29 is an outside possibility but if by train than April 5 a more likely possibility. If it is shipped by truck, please let us know as your area would be an indication of the farthest for a truck delivery, which I think is 600 miles.
When your Window Sticker appears, that is one of the best ways to know your car has shipped, not perfect but close.

Ok. Today marks 1 week since I built my car with the salesman at my dealer. From whom may I expect the first word of progress with the actual build? As far as I know the salesman has my phone number and the finance woman has my email. Unless they passed this on to someone else there would be no one else to contact me. I guess if I get to the point I have lost all patience I could call the salesman. I'm sure that I can hold out another week or three.

LazyLion, you no longer need to depend on the sales department to get updates. Just go to GMConnects and enter in the info needed. If you did not get yours order number, drop by the dealer and they can give it to you. Some dealers are reluctant to share but will give it to you if you insist.
The order number is six characters, usually all letters or 5 letters and 1 number and begins with the letter Q.
If the dealer put the order in yesterday you could be at 2500 before the close of the week. 1100/1102 means order placed, 2000 means order recognized and 2500 means order has been accepted for production.
If you have any questions do not hesitate to post them and one of us will try to give you an answer.

Have followed this forum for a few months and have learned a great deal; many thanks to the community of posters.
Ordered a Summit White LTZ hatch w/sunroof on February 13th. According to GMconnects, it reached 3800 on March 13th. Have not received further updates since.
Several posts in this thread show 3800, 4000, 4150, and 4B00 happening in the same day. Anyone know if there's a hold or other possible reason why the subsequent codes have not yet appeared?

You are flying under the radar, Kodylove. It may be it is missing a part and will not ship until that part has been installed. There is no code to indicate that is the situation, and my saying this is pure conjecture.
It does not seem like a quality hold as those get a 4B00 everytime the plant staff do something. It could be nothing more than waiting for a full truck load before it leaves the plant.
But it is built. Pre-2005, you probably would not even know that. As you know, being built is a good thing, and it won't be long before it is holding court in your driveway.

No, they will not let you pick it up at the factory, not even if you had a hand in building it.

I did get a window sticker this morning. Last 4 of my VIN are 4259. As you can see below I got a 3800 on Monday and the other 3 codes the following day. I would expect there to be some rail time for my car. My workplace has a railroad going right by and there are tons of autoracks going by all the time.

On 3/10 i stopped at a (semi)local dealer and looked at the Sonic models that they had in inventory. I then told them what i was really interested in and the salesman looked it up on line and found 2 in the region. By that i mean that i am near Binghamton, NY and these cars were in western Pennsylvania or Ohio. Before he could get some type of dealer swap set up the other cars were listed as sold. Next I went to the dealer on 3/15 and walked through the build with the salesman that afternoon. This is how things look now:

Good guessing, LazyLion, but I would go with one week to 3400 then two weeks to 3800, in other words, reversing your guess. But it is all a guess.
I can not remember how far Binghamton is from Detroit. The time from assembled to delivered depends on method of transportation, barring a QC Hold, which are rare this late in the model year. If by rail then about two weeks plus the two days it takes for dispatch to set up the route, if close enough to go by truck then one week plus the two days for dispatch.

I placed my order last Monday 3/19 and the dealer says my order should be processed by this Saturday then they will have an order number for me to track. Was anyone else provided this right away or did you have to wait a couple of weeks before you were given a tracking number? Just curious. Thanks.
