That's where I ended up. ...I mean giving up on mileage.
The tune is super fun but it didn't increase my mileage. I think eco mode is worse mpg than it was without the tune.
I agree.

I'm always in performance mode. no select a tune for me.

getting ~40 in the city and 47-48 on highway at ~78mph
At those speeds on the highway are you drafting a bus and going down a 6% grade?
More details please!
It warmed up today... I noticed my mileage was unusually good. After 9.1 miles I had to take a pic
I wish I could make it through a whole tank like that?

40 goes east and west for a dang long time and lots of semi trucks use it to get across the country. At the NC\TN border, 40 goes thru the smokie mountains, and thru national forests and tourist traps like Pigeon Forge. Casino's, Reservations, etc. You get the idea. Some of it is kind of remote on account of the geography. The highway gets narrow and is barricaded with tall concrete barriers on both sides.
....
2012LTZ, I think you misunderstood, GeneralZod was not asking you for more details, he was asking yevgenievich how he gets 47-48 mpg at ~78 mph. I'd like to know also.
yevgenievich, more details on how you get 47-48 mpg at ~78 mph, we're very interested opcorn:
getting ~40 in the city and 47-48 on highway at ~78mph . A lot better than anything else i have.
my truck gets about 6mpg city, 10mph highway. The Camaro with the old set up used to get maybe 3mpg or so, but very fun 3mpg.
Has anyone posted what they are getting in the RS? I am averaging right at about 28. Went on a 2600 mile round trip 2 weeks ago and we were at about 31 on the freeway.. Not the best but it is dang fun to drive and handles really well!

Your numbers are incredible, do you use some kind of hyper-miling techniques? Did you improve the aerodynamics of your car? How do you measure your mpg?
