Edit: I do know what novas are, in fact I recently got a nice 6" reflector telescope on an equatorial mount. The cloud bands on Jupiter are easily visible along with the four Galilean moons!

As I have stated elsewhere, Chevy has officially announced the new 1.6T currently assembled in Europe will be going into the Sonic within two years. There is no word as to if it will be standard or option but since it is not going into the Cruze I suspect it will be as an option. I see it going into the HB and not into the Sedan because each targets different audiences. I wonder if one of the big dealers could be convinced to get the Sedan with the 1.6T? That would be a true Sonic COPO so I guess will not happen. If I liked four door sedans I would be tempted to try, but I don't so I won't.

It is turbocharged. This is a new direct injected turbocharged engine that just started production last December. I guess your next question would be will it be available as a crate engine and that I do not know.

Well the motor used in the astra is very similar to the 1.4, it uses the same manifold/turbo design. From what I've read it is a very different beast though. Look up the Opel astra vxr.
