Haha I got the same letter. I am getting an oil change and recall done on Wednesday.

I recently brought my 2014 Dusk LTZ in for a tire replacement, I had a puncture in my Conti DWS which is the standard Dusk tire and I bought the tire warranty, a great innvestment. While my car was there, the service advisor told me of the radio recall for the key chime. I had no problem but he said they have to do it anyway. Wish I hadn't let them, I have had nothing but problems with my radio's phone functions ever since. Unfortunately I use all these functions constantly to do work business and communications all the time when I'm driving. Now I'll need them to replace my radio as soon as my car comes out of the body shop. A jerk backed into my rear passenger side door.

Had my oil change and recall done today. I drive one mile down the road and realize none of my steering wheel buttons work. I drove the car back and I am waiting again. I love my steering wheel buttons because they are so convenient. I hope the problem gets fixed fast.
lol sounds more like somebody f**ked up. Just got mine back and all my presets were still set.

My presets changed after the second time they programmed my radio. Everything is fixed now just took 3 hours with oil change and body work estimates.

I went in on Monday at 7:30am for the recall. Work was completed in 50 minutes. It actually fixed an old caller ID problem. When an iPhone contact would call, all I saw was their phone number on the display. Now when they call, I see their name with the number.

Got my recall done too. As well my steering wheel controls would not work anymore with the radio. Contacted the Dealership and confirmed its a company wide issue and most sonics that were updated to the new software have the same issue. Now I am on call-back until GM brings out a new software.

Interesting. Here's a response I got from them regarding a Simple MyLink update. This response was after them them telling me I already had the features the update would provide.
"Thank you for contacting the GM Infotainment Customer Support group. We appreciate you taking time out of your day to reach out to us. If you do not have the features then you will need to get into a Certified General Motors dealership to better assist you and to see if the can provide that update. Infotainment is only here for basic education and troubleshooting."

Well, this thread isn't very encouraging. I'm due for my first oil change soon, and do NOT want it to turn into an hour ordeal + possible come backs...
I read about the recall a month or so ago, and had to think… THAT’s RIGHT! No annoying dinging when keys are in the ignition!! I almost don’t want them to fix it, as 1) spare key.. 2) Phone will open up my car..
Maybe I won’t go in for the free oil change until GM gets their act together..

I'm with you SonicFlow, I also need an oil change and will be holding off until someone confirms an updated fix that doesn't break any existing features.
Dear GM this is not how you do things..... The public should not be your beta testers and these issues should have been addressed before the recall notice ever took place.

I too have this recall and I work as an IT Professional. I'm studying ITIL and one of the key introductory points is when rolling out new services or improving services, that you don't harm other existing services (or in this case functions). Like the others, I'll hold off on this recall for now. I have no problems with anything relating to entertainment or driving controls right now and I would like to keep it that way.

I wouldn't delay an oil change for this.
I'd just tell them to change the oil and not do the recall upgrade at this time.
Let them know that you understand there have been some issues with losing steering wheel controls and presets after the recall has been done and want to wait until the necessary software upgrade is bug free.
