I'm not so sure. Considering at 70 in 6th gear I was at 3200.
Are you sure you mathed in the final drive?
That's what gearing the RS has, I sit there about 73 mph.

Edit: as of this morning, 4th @ 70 is a little over 5k.
Never tried third, fourth is scary and 5th is plenty while tuned for passing guts.
I heart my tranny.
It does not bother me at all and satisfies the feel of performance in the RS above the other trims. Yes we have the same engine, but mine is SOO much more fun to drive

Sorry. I guess I meant mz4. Whatever the stock trans code is.

Yeah, it's definitely not gonna be installed by the end of September.....
But my level of urgency has calmed down due to other family priorities. However I still call Dave once a week for progress reports. He has finished the intercooler portion, and I hope to hear good news about the 3" downpipe soon.
It should be fabbed within the next 2 weeks. But actually installing it on my car may be a little later. Work is getting crazy and I want to be sure the install is uneventful and reliable.

General consensus is that the vented hood does not require pins, but the non-vented cf hood will require them.
As you can see from the very first post, there are no pins in Preloaders hood.

Another thing to realize about the seibon is that it is not a simply Carbon Fiber shell, that would absolutely require hood pins. It is reinforced with a fiberglass undergirding. I wouldn't be surprised if it did fine with the stock latch and no pins.
Although, I do think hood pins can be sexy if done tastefully.

My honest opinion is that pins will not be required. I would just be sure to adjust the outer rubber hood bump stops and hood latch so there is even triangular pressure on the leading edge of the hood, to prevent movement during high speeds (eseentially vacuum above the hood).
This of course is merely opinion and speculation, but I feel pretty confident from my experience with the Seibon's reinforced structure.

Tastefully utilized hood pins ARE sexy. I'd venture to say my reaction to seeing hood pins is about the same as when a guy sees a nip slip. It may or may not include increased salivation.

I modified my AUX 12v port in my car to be a mod holder.
My Provari is ~7/8" O.D. and would not fit, so modification is necessary for APV and Mechs.
I'll let the pics do most of the talking.
See, won't fit.
Took the sleeve out, still no dice.
Easy solution.
PVC pipe and cap cut and bored for the 12v port trim to press fit.
Installed a furniture foot felt in the bottom to protect the base of my mod.
Can't even tell it's not factory.
Now I'm safely vaping between shifts.:vapor:
