Turning a Sonic into a "Electric Vehicle" I wonder if it could be done?

Hello, I love my wifes Sonic. I would like to start a thread to talk about "Retrofit kits" to turn a Sonic into an electric vehicle? Yep Electric? I have an extensive electrical knowledge and I worked for GM for 30 years and given the right resources Im sure a Chevrolet Sonic "Could" be converted into an electrical vehicle? The ONLY problem I for see is the battery issues and mounting them into the vehicle. Finding the place "too" mount them is the problem in my opinion. The (electric) motor and transmission are the simple problems but the batteries??? Thats the secret like all vehicles? The car itself in my opinion is rugged enough with some re enforcing to accomidate battery weight. Anyone want to brush up on this idea and keep this thread alive with your thoughts please do post something. I think people should think outside the "Tesla Box" and maybe its time for some genious to re invent "retro fitting" existing cars to electric vehicles? Look out Elon Musk! Thanks for reading

Some electric vehicles have located the battery to span the bottom portion of the car (from driver side to passenger side and from front/firewall to rear/back seat). A 300 mile/charge with 300 whp would make this a fun car to drive.

Remove engine, put batteries there?

You'd also need to redesign heat and AC. The steering is electric so I guess you luck out there, but do you think the auxiliary brake pump is enough to run the system full time?

Isn't the bolt EV just an electric sonic? It pretty much took over the Sonic's spot in Chevys model lineup.
