Why did you choose Sedan or Hatchback?

Well, my wife and I will be purchasing a pair of Sonics towards the likes of September/October and well, we are going to get a hatch for me and a sedan for her. I personally like the hatch better but, she favors the sedan more. Red and orange for us BTW!

That's what we did; The wife and I have a pair of Sonics. She has a 1.8 LTZ auto sedan, and I have a 1.4 LTZ turbo hatch. Both of ours are Inferno Orange Metallic. You can see photos in my garage, or in the gallery.

I don't like the look of the hatch, looks like some kid's car to me. I also don't like having my passengers sitting with 3 inches of cushion, glass, and steel protecting them from the jackass tailgating me. I like having a trunk where I can lock my firearms and other valuables in. I can't wait for my Silver Ice Metallic 1LT Turbo 6MT sedan to arrive from the factory.

Honestly, I originally wanted the hatch, but then my girlfriend and I happened upon one by her Ale House. I was disappointed when we both mistook it for a Scion , but then I saw the bowtie. Seeing the sedan in person though, I fell in love with every curve, save the rear. From a previous comment, I can see how it can be mistaken for a Camry, but even worst, it can be mistaken for a *gasp* Aveo.

I remember passing a fellow Sonic thinking, "Haha, slow ass Ave... oh wait... that's what I'm driving...:blankface:

I'm with you. I liked the hatch to start with but I really liked the looks of the sedan in person. Add to that the additional cost of the hatch and it was a no-brainer for me to order the sedan. Very anxious for my new Sonic to arrive.

Hatchback or Sedan

I chose the hatchback because this is going to be a work car & the HB gives me more room. I chose the Sonic for the gas mileage & its sporty looks. I got the 2LS and will be getting it by 2/3/12, I ordred it on 12/18/11.

Got the hatch because I didn't want to always have to take the truck to take our kids with us; a 125 lb Rottweiler and 7 lb Poodle. Guess which one is alpha?

I hate trunks in these small cars. They are nice for luggage, but everything seems to slide all the way to the back, making it difficult to get out. With the seats down, I fit a 50" plasma in the box. The hatch closed. No way would that fit in the trunk version.

The hatchback looks better to me. The trunk version thins out in the back and looks really pointy and too high off the ground. If I wanted a trunk, I'd buy the Cruze, Malibu, or Impala. These smaller cars are better looking as hatchbacks.

My hatch can carry things my brothers Cruze can not. The back end of the hatch gets dirty faster than any car I have had. If you do not need to carry anything in the back, then the sedan costs less and would be the way to go. The sedan rear end doesn't look as good to me because of the tail lights, that can be changed.

I got the hatch because of the ability to fit large items. Also I didn't like the tail lights on the sedan

I know they are old posts but everyone who said the trunk has more security than a hatch. How much more? A rock, BB gun, or hammer will beak a window and get anyone into your trunk. Just fold the seats down. By the way, same for the hatch. Also, the cops can search your trunk. It's not a locked compartment if you can fold the seats down without a key.

Hatch! Because its RS. I think I really like how the rear tire is integrated into the bumper. I don't really need the storage but it's nice to know I could throw a fishtank in there if I want.

Yes! Especially underneath the spoiler. Some car washes don't even get under there. I usually have to tell the attendant to manually spray under there because the machine will not get it.

THIS IS MY PET PEEVE! I have to spray my car in the self serve then drive back around to the automated one just to clean the glass right below the spoiler!
